| Heya! I'm Lexie and I created this after noticing a lack of Pagan/Wiccan groups on MAL. Ummm, I'm going to add a Q&A here. If you have any questions, feel welcome to ask me! What is a Pagan? A pagan is someone who is not Christian. Basically, any Buddhists, Hindus or Wiccans are Pagan. The answer to this question is different for everyone. What is a Wiccan? Wicca is the religion that was started by Alaster Crowley in the 1950's based on more ancient Pagan religions. Wicca is basically a modern version of pre-Christian religions. A Wiccan is a member of this religion. Are Wiccans Satanists? No. No. A thousand times no. You can't really get much further from Wicca than Satanism. Wiccans generally don't believe in any "pure evil" or Satan. Is Wicca a cult? No. A cult is a group following a leader who claims he/she is all-powerful or something stupid like that. Wicca is not a cult. Do Wiccans try to convert people? Generally, no. If someone claims they are Wiccan and try to convert you, they are not following the Rede. Wiccans believe that each individual is meant to find their own path. Does Witchcraft involve turning people into frogs and stuff like that? No. Turning someone into a frog is impossible and it would be against the Rede if it were. Witchcraft is a very broad subject. Magick (it has a 'k' at the end to distinguish it between fantasy magic and itself.) is from the environment and summoned from the universe. Witchcraft/rituals are the same as praying. |
