| 83 -waves- I guess links would be the most helpful, huh? The entire cast of Are You Alice? Most of the line-up from Sengoku Strays, with Kasane Kusanagi as the Alice. Aya Saitou from Alice∞ Wonderland. The entire cast of Meisou Kuiki, with Rei Amasawa as the Alice. Most of the cast of Amatsuki. Tokidoki Rikugou = Alice. Kon Shinonome as the white rabbit. Bonten and Ginshu and Byakuroku trade places as the white and red queens, er, kings throughout the story. It could be argued that Bonten is also the Cheshire cat, but I'm not here to discuss that. Kuchiha is kinda the march hare. Okay, I could go on with Amatsuki, but I won't. @ A @ Hatenkou Yuugi is a pretty good example of an Alice in Wonderland story. Rahzel Anadis being the Alice. Heart no Kuni de Ochakai's Alice Minami. Miyuki-chan in Wonderland's Miyuki. The oneshot Alice in Underground is also full of Alice characters. Another one-shot, Looks Like a Teaspoon is another take on the Alice story. Godchild starts off in the Alice in Wonderland tale and is generally creepy and dark like many Alice retellings. The manhwa Alice takes the main character, Dr. Arlem, as Alice and puts him in a sick woman's psychological wonderland. Another QuinRose otome game adaption, Crimson Empire is a thematically similar reverse harem story, with Sheila Rozann as Alice. Also thematically similar but far more psychological, Houkago Hokenshitsu or Afterschool Nightmare is an amazing Alice in Wonderland story, with Ichijo Mashiro as Alice. The manga of Fruits Basket is a bit more true to the Alice in Wonderland story than the anime adaption. It's mood is a bit dreamy and dark, not as light-hearted and includes that little bit of fantasy. I assume that most people know enough about this story to know who the Alice is in Fruits Basket, haha. The manga Barajou no Kiss is also like Fruits Basket in that it's reverse harem and set up in a school setting, but whose plot revolves around fantasy. The Alice here would be Anis Yamamoto. Another manga strongly similar to this one and also to Alice in Wonderland is S・L・H, with Kozue Hiyoki as the Alice. Shirokuro Kitan is also very similar. Ririko Benibana is the Alice. UHMMMMMMM, okay there are a lot of reverse harem stories that are rather surreal at times, but not exactly fantasy/dreamy like Ouran High School Host Club. I dunno if that's too much of a stretch, your call. This is all I can think of right now. Might be back later to add a few more. |
