Ask your rulings questions here and hopefully I or someone else will provide a speedy response.
Before you ask or answer a question, keep in mind that you can probably find the answer to your question by looking them up online. A few places you can look:
1. YGO Wikia has rulings pages for individual cards issued by Konami, including rulings posted on their Japanese FAQ site. Occasionally, you'll find rulings issued by Upper Deck Entertainment, which YGO Wikia will claim are invalid. While that is true, a ruling isn't necessarily invalid just because it was issued by UDE.

2. Konami's official Yugioh website is the primary source for card rulings in the TCG, but isn't as convenient as YGO Wikia, as all the rulings are in .pdf format. The site also features an up-to-date instruction manual, tournament policy, and banlist.

3. Konami of Japan has a YGO FAQ site, which is also a good primary source for rulings. Unfortunately, it isn't very useful for most of us here, since the site's in Japanese.

4. Konami also allows players to email them with any questions that they may have about rulings. Don't expect a speedy response though.

Rules:
1. Check out some of the aforementioned sites before you ask. It'll save you a lot of time, especially if you're in the middle of a game.
2. No bitching. You won't always get an answer that's favorable for you or your deck, but that's something that you're going to have to deal with. If you really feel that you're right, you can ask Konami, via email, to double-check our answers.
3. Don't answer questions that you don't have the answers to. It's never a good thing whenever someone walks away with a wrong answer. You can double-check your answers at any of the sources listed above if you're not sure.
4. Don't pull the whole 'I saw a judge rule it that way at regionals/nats/worlds once' bullshit. Incompetent judges do exist and we all know that if you ever have to fall back on this argument, you're wrong.
5. Don't claim that a ruling is incorrect just because it's an OCG ruling. Besides a few discrepancies, the game is very much the same here as it is there.
6. This should go without saying, but if you don't have a question, don't ask. I've seen some people waste the time of other people by going into rulings threads/boards and quizzing them. If anyone wanted to have their knowledge of rulings evaluated, they could simply do so at Konami's official site: http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/judges/index.html
7. Don't be afraid to ask/answer questions. If you don't learn how the more intricate points of this game work, you'll never be a good player, and asking and answering rulings questions can help you brush up on them. |
