More stuff with the Spiders and Kurapika, less stuff with finding that Greed Island video game please. Everything with the Spiders has been awesome so far, so I hate it when they keep cutting to Gon, Leorio, and Killua. It's just not that interesting. I can only hope Gon and company somehow end up fighting the Spiders as well.

I agree, it's damn cool to see the Spider/Kurapika conflict that was mentioned so much from the very beginning come to the forefront like this. I think it is pretty obvious that Gon and Co. will eventually come into the fight, though.

I think once they actually get Greed Island it'll become interesting. But watching them get money is boring compared to Kurapica wrapping a chain around someone's heart :o

This episode was complete and utter crap. Maybe its because I don't like Karupica but seriously he is waaaaay! to over powered. He can all of a sudden kick around a member of the spider organization like its nothing, a member who killed 4 of the 10 godfathers by himself with out a problem,a member who has killed countless people and slaughter a whole clan, someone who has been doing this is whole life can all of a sudden be kicked around by Karupica who only just recently got his hunters licences and just only recently learned how to use nen. -.- and whats this crap about him being in the specialization group and he can use all nen abilities to 100% this is reminding me of what Kishimoto did to Sasuke; giving him all these powers and abilities out of nowhere and making him able to beat the crap out of anyone, Any who that was my little rant on this episode , I use to really enjoy this series and it was really good up to this episode but overpowering someone out of no where and making him being able to beat the crap out of anyone kinda of killed it for me. Hopefully the last couple of episodes gets better but for me this series has went down from the 8,9 range to the 7 range.

The only reason why Kurapika is this strong is because his enemy is part of the Spider organization. That was the oath that he made. He's not really overpowered considering that he can only use his powers on Spider members. He wasn't "overpowered" out of nowhere. If you paid more attention this was all explained during the episode where they showed Kurapika's training.

not just that, he's literally the spiders worst nightmare, all his power stems from his hatred for the spiders. he's only overpowered to the spiders, becuz he actually put the necessary risks to attain it. probably one of the most realistic power-ups you will ever see.

I have to agree with lilpudntatr

for those who don't know kurapika's powers here the are : http://hunterxhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Kurapika

So let me point out the bullshit. In less tha 6 months ( It's said in the manga, i didn't make it up) kurapika :

- learned nen from 0
- mastered Ten to the point that he can take a direct 100% big bang impact and get away with only his arm broken
- mastered ren, zetsu, In and Gyo
- materialized 5 very useful chains, and just ONE of those chains is restricted to the spiders
-- holy chain, that can heal his wounds instantly
-- chain jail, the only chain tha can be used against spiders only, so I don't have a problem with it.
-- dowsing chain, wich is so powerful that even UVO is afraid of it, and needs to dodge it, and yet, it is so light that it can react to people's heart beats
-- judgment chain
-- and another chain that we don't know yet
- kurapika also became so fast, that even UVO could'nt keep up with him (kurapika literarly disapears in front of him)
- And just how come someone as experienced as UVO doesn't use GYO in the begining of each serious fight

I would'nt mind all this if it was in a manga like fairy tail for example, because it got me used to crapy bullshit. But for this to hapen in HxH, wich is in my opnion, the most realistic shonen I know, it's just unforgivaable.

I agree that it was a bit out of nowhere, but if you think about it:

1. Kurapika recieved his powers at a price of overspecialising himself
2. Basically, he sacrificed all his potential and staked his life on that, not a small oath
3. Judgement Chain is restricted to Spiders too, if I'm not mistaken
4. His first victory is against a straight up fighter, who just been poisoned and paralised recently
5. He uses techniques that are naturally good against Reinforcement users
6. Now, when element of surprise is lost, probability of Kurapika defeating any Spider is questionable
7. And it's zero if they just fight him all at once, or even two at once
8. Creating a hard counter for something doesn't require much time to invent
9. We don't really know how long did other people studied Nen and did they had teachers

It also seemed to me that even under the oath, Kurapika was godly, he couldnt be touched at all! In any case, the episode was fantastic. Loved the fight and animation used.

I expected the fight to be longer and more intense, but it was fine. I simply love Kurapika's chains.

Best fight of the series by far.

Kurapika's strength was explained in detail a few episodes back, so those who think he is overpowered may want to re-watch that ep (cant remember the #)

Anyway, the fight reminded me of YYH's Toguro fight in the arena, where he kept increasing his power by set percentages. Same author, so makes sense I guess, I just like the similarity.

Absolutely remarkable episode, another showcase as to why Kurapika is one of my favorite characters. The scene with the red moon as Kurapika was burying Uvogin seemed like tears of blood running from it.

I feel the same way. I'm not really enjoying this arc much. Too much time has been spent arm wrestling and thinking of ways to make money. I want to see something happen. Kurapica's fight was really good though.

It's terrifying how accurate HxH is sometimes. There are plenty of Uvogins walking around on this earth.

Who use their power to callously to kill anyone on a whim. Blank remorseless faces when reminded of their past.

Hell, you see it on the news all the time whenever a serial killer has their day in court.

A person who can commit all order of crime without so much a flinch is far more chilling to the bone than someone who does it despite knowing it's wrong.

I have to say I prefer this episode over 2011's episode 47. I know people complain when the episode bounces back to Gon and the gang, but I think it helps Kurapika's story have some really good context and development. Here, his friends are concerned and hoping to help, while Kurapika is in a brutal battle. The 2011 version chose mid-battle to flashback to his training and explaining the conditions behind his chain. This version was less of an info dump, and more character building.

...plus the soundtrack and animation were far more effective in this older, cell animated series. This show sure knew how to set a mood with it's art.

Did I hear/read that right?! Kurapika(when his scarlet eyes glow) can use his specialization nen which allow him to use all types of nen each 100%!!!

Kurapika's eyes are freaking insane! Reaching 100% in one nen type by training for a lifetime is already treated as amazing. However, he can use ALL nen types by just training for like less than 6 months!!!

Kurapika you badass overpowered girl... I mean boy!

Uvojin really is something. But it is real interesting to see Kurapika pick him apart. This was one dark episode. Hunter x Hunter really explored what it is like to take revenge.

Let's see where Gon's risk pays off. But if the bank is willing to charge no interest for 100 million for a Hunter card, wonder how much more it is actually worth. I hope the banks have some real good hunters in order to stop the borrowers from defaulting. If the default rate is 5%, then the hunter cards as a whole could be worth quite a lot more. Possibly more than 150 million, considering the short period of time. Since the license accesses a lot more information around the web and is of particular interest to illegal activities, it is definitely worth that much.

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

What and amazing fight, I know it wasn’t full of movements and was short but is impressive to see a dude like Uvogin outplayed and finally killed. I’m not completely sure if Chrollo cares about it, maybe his members are not that important.

Kurapika is frightening! - What a show of power.
It really shows the dedication he has towards defeating all the members of the Renei Gyodan.

Was nice seeing the foreshadowing from one of the very first episodes finally come to fruition albeit just 1 member so far.

Nah, Kurapika is exceptional since day one so it doesn't surprise me if he can do all that plus his hatred is his main motivation to do it.

ive re read and rewatched and all i can conclude is that uvo was slightly wasted because do you remember all the beers he's been drinking to get rid of the leeches? well there's that and then kurapika's training which is shown later on.
