Otherwise known as Suikoden: Hundred Years Tapestry
This is where I'm going to post stuff about it I've gathered/seen.

If you plan to BASH the game in here it is better if you DO NOT post.
Feel free to discuss however, etc.

First of all....the official (Japanese) web site is:
http://www.konami.jp/gs/game/genso/100-years/

Secondly....the original 37 second trailer

Next....A 3 minute trailer:

This version [of the 3 min trailer] also happens to be subbed [or rather fansubbed]
(click on the "Turn on captions" button to see the subs)

Any idea who the scriptwriter is? Though it had pacing problems, Suikoden V's plot was handled by Skies of Arcadia's writer and had enough twists and political intrigues to keep me interested and dismiss it wasn't written by Murayama. If this game turned out to be as Suikoden-y as Suikoden V, then I might get it.

I did hear from somewhere that Suikoden 5's writer did return to do this.....

but I have no idea when or where I heard that fact so I wouldn't believe myself on that quite yet till I remember where I heard it from....

That would be cool if it's true. Politics, strategies and epic battles are the meat of Suikoden, and without a good writer with good understanding of politics and war the appeal will be lost.

Also, I'm wondering if this game will be taking place in the Suikoden I-V world. I think I heard there was an interview with the DS Suikoden team that mentioned that all future Suikodens will take place in alternate worlds.

More like...they are leaning towards making future Suikoden games explore alternate worlds sort of like how Tierkries kind of did.....

Though I don't think that entirely implies that they're planning to never return back to the Suikoden 1-Suikoden 5 world.... I think the statement was more of a "we're gonna explore other options for awhile" kind of thing...in my opinion....

And (also in my opinion)...that's not necessarily a bad thing considering most Suikoden fans these days can't get a hold of the original Suikoden 1, Suikoden 2, or Suikoden 3 (if we don't consider the PSN) but I'm going a bit off topic I think....

I finally got my copy of Tsumugareshi about 2 weeks ago.

Here's my first impressions (or more like explanation) of the gameplay -in my own words.
It's not really spoiler-ish but I'm gonna put it in spoiler tags anyway cuz it's kinda long:
((note: If you have an account on Senso this is almost an exact copy-paste of what I posted there))

When I first posted this I was about 9.5 hours in the game w/ 19 SoD.
I am now currently about 13 hours into the game w/ 27 SoD

Probably missed some stuff but let me know if you have any questions and I can try to answer them.

I'm more interested in this than I was in Tierkries. Will definitely be grabbing it - even if I have to resort to a Japanese version. My Japanese is alright, but... Definitely nowhere close to an expert on the language.

If anything...it looks more awesome than Tierkries for sure...

The plot kind of goes over my head sometimes though....
(I mean I get the general gist of what they're trying to do...but the last place I played up to I was in the middle of some lecture with a Shu-looking dude and I have no idea what the guy was talking about xD; )
