Kyoshiro and Itao

I really like how if you look at these 2 players they seem to be modeled after Ichiro and Hideki Matsui. Kyoshiro hits at the top of the lineup with speed and he's left handed. He also has a laser arm and set a record for hits in a season which Ichiro did. Itao is a power hitting left handed outfielder who kind of looks like Matsui. And that was what Matsui was. The Barry Bonds of Japan. Kind of cool how at least to me they're honoring 2 of the most successful asian players in the Majors.

Anybody else agree with this assessment?

edit: I must be retarded, didn't realize Kyoshiro wears 51. It was pretty obvious...

yeah, If you watch enough baseball you will see that alot of the Major Leaguers in seasons 4, 5 and 6 are modeled after real baseball players. of course based off when the manga was written alot of those players are either retired or alot older.

Yea I'm a little late. Finished this show in about 2 months earlier this year. Definitely many similarities to recent players.

I'm currently rewatching S5 with more baseball knowledge than I had when I first watched it.

I guess Suguro is modeled after Nomo.
