Interested but Hesitant

I have this irrational need to see my favorite male protagonist end up with my favorite female protagonist. I got into the show and was really enjoying it, but I was really put off by the fact that the female has a lifespan vastly longer than the male. I couldn't imagine a satisfying ending(for me) happening for this anime.

Anyone care to put my doubts to rest?
