Like the topic says, what's your favorite TSF? For me it's a tough call between Strike Eagle, Gekishin and Takemikazuchi but I'd probably have to go with Strike Eagle. Typhoon also looks really cool.

My top 5 TSFs are the F-4 Phantom ,the F-14 Tomcat, the F-15 Eagle/Type-89 Kagerou, the Type-00 Takemikazuchi, and the Type-82 Zuikaku. By the way, what's the correct way to write the Type-00's name in English? My Kotobukiya kit spells it as Takemikaduchi but it also spells Tsukuyomi as Tukuyomi and has an EXPLAVATION in the first page of the instructions....

I mostly know those from the original VN (everytime a Zuikaku appeared on the anime I thought "that Gekishin has a weird head... oh, wait").

I prefer the newer generations to the older (well, they are made to look less clumsy and cooler), and the "standard" models rather than the specific ones full of details and extra armor (such as Wadatsumi). The japanese models are better as well, because of the swords. :)
My favorite is the Fubuki, followed (in order) by the Takemikazuchi, Kagerou, Raptor and Shiranui. The Shiranui is ranked last because its head looks a bit weirder than the Fubuki... :/

But Muv-Luv is the only franchise I ever saw where all the mecha look amazing. :D

I agree the mecha in Muv-Luv look great and the colors on them are fairly realistic choices and not too extravagant. It's a refreshing look. I'm also a big fan of the Fubuki, partly because I really like the blue frame + green visor look (big fan of ReZEL Commander from Gundam for the same reason) but the frame itself is also quite nice.

Takemikaduchi? o.O Might just be a bad translation I'm fairly sure Takemikazuchi is the correct way but I'm not positive. Glad to see another F-4 Phantom fan.

do the Susanoos count? :V

i'm also stuck on the "VN-only" boat so i'm having an awful time trying to remember all the new names, from the ones i know the Takemikazuchi wins by a landslide, but i've been checking some soviet ones that are -almost- as badassed as the 00 like the Terminator or the Berkut. SU-xx where xx are 2 numbers which i dont remember

PS:
'du' and 'zu' are equivalent for a romaji "translation" but phonetically is always a 'zu' (one of the few bits i remember from my japanese lessons some years ago which i couldnt continue D: )

I don't think they ever refered to the Susanoo as a TSF in the VN (reason I didn't include it) but I think it'd be alright to count it if someone really wanted to vote for it. :P I'm honestly surprised Takemikazuchi isn't ruling this poll.

Added some more options to the poll.

That's right the Susanoo was refered as a Strategic High Maneuver Aeronautic Fortress or something like that but to me it looks like a huge TSF so I was a bit surprised that it wasn't included in the poll (although to be honest it is my least favorite design so I didn't really care).
Also, thanks for the romaji translation lesson.

well, after checking a bit of info on the webz:
the Type 2 was it own sort of monster, but as you remember, besides its Wave Motion Gun, it was pretty much naked (not a small deal but still) that was a design flaw, but then came the Type 4 which i THINK i remember Yuuko (more ppl should be talking about her since she's awesome :P) comparing it a lot more to a regular TSF in every aspect of its conception and development, primarily on its controlling and weaponry (as you might remember, the damn thing was armed to its teeth).

so while its not a TSF by definition, it does share a lot of things with it; marking it with a "Close Enough"

@M9M7F4: lovin your Avatar, Tsukuyomi on her "Lt. mode" is awesome :3

So it seems that Takemikazuchi and Shiranui tied for most votes. Well I guess that's a win for Japan. :P I'd have to say I've updated my favorites a bit. Now it's probably Super Hornet > Strike Eagle > Kai Zuikaku (White) > Takemikazuchi (White/Red).

The Takemikazuchi is kind of the de-facto "cool" TSF for a lot of people, but personally I like the Strike Eagle and Raptor more (voted for the Raptor, but I like them about the same).

Personally I wouldn't consider the Shiranui and Shiranui Second as one in the same since they're about as different in upper body design as the Fubuki is. And looking at design alone I like the Shiranui more than the Second.

All TSF look great.
These are my favorite: white Takemikazuchi , 2000 Typhoon, Su-37UB Terminator, F-15 Active Eagle .

This is my no.1 : http://muvluv.wikia.com/wiki/Su-47_Berkut

From all mecha I've seen TSFs are clearly my favorite.

Imma go with the most overpowered "TSF" : XG-70d Susanoo IV

why settle for small mechas when you can be inside a fortress like that and kill 10 thousands in 1 attack
