| I liked it. I'm not really familiar with the franchise (nor many fighting games in general) but what makes this lot better than the other fighting game adaptions is that it's not "here's this character and there's that character". There's actually plot involved. Perhaps not great plot, but at least it has one. I also enjoyed the setting. |
| Dmitry and Morrigan didn't do anything afterall. The ending fight is absolutely laughable and of course, the program is ready to be reevaluated. |
| Disappointing ending and a wholly disappointing show. Practically nothing happened outside of the 1st episode, the fights were unexciting, too many characters were just shoved in for baseless cameos without contribution, and the story was incredibly dull. I get that they may not have wanted to do a typical "rise up against the uber villain" but that's what they should've done. So much posturing from Demitri and he was just another chump. Morrigan showed some real promise in the beginning but then was pitifully sidelined, and her sudden love for the D was laughable. Donovan and Anita were decent, but it spent too much time on them instead of everyone else and only kept hammering on the same "humanity sucks" message. I'm only a casual fan of the games and didn't expect much but this was a big regret. 5 "What is a Darkstalker, but a miserable pile of poopets?" /10 |

| Well, in the end, a lot of characters were irrelevant. It feels like the only thing of importance was the development of Donovan and Anita, just as the canonic end in the game. In the end, I think it’s very difficult to enjoy this anime without knowing the games lore, so, as a stand alone is pretty problematic and boring. Not gonna lie, it bored me in some parts. |
