Girlfriends fan translation vs complete colection

Like many people i read the fan translation of Girlfriends online and i fell in love with the manga. Because of how much i loved it i decided to buy the complete collection so i could read it on the go. The only problem is that after reading it i feel that they messed up translating it. the characters felt more bitchy, some of the dialog didn't make any sense, dialog wasn't as funny and i ended up not liking one of my favorite characters of all time, Mari.

i need to know if other people had the same problem, it felt like i was watching the blue-ray version of star wars, please tell me what you think. (Oh and it's not because it was different, I'm one of thoughts people who likes change, i even admit the they did some parts better than the fan translation but they don't equlise the bad in the complete collection)
