It lacks consistent logic, it is plagued by poor character development, the characters are highly unoriginal, the prose will, at times, break the flow so as to pepper itself with over-extravagant, flowery language, Stephenie Meyer probably spends more time with her thesaurus than with her family, and it contradicts itself more than the Bush administration. Not to mention that it portrays unhealthy, abusive relationships as idealistic, even romantic.

mode disgusting to describe the ''beauty''. The unconditional adoration, irrational and delayed of protagonist. awful repetition of names of cars, and the words "skin" and "pale" throughout paragraph. Pass values that were in use around 3 centuries ago. Can be much worse than one fanfic. It creates more and more fangirls headless what the world is saturated. twilight completely distorts the whole history of vampires - and, probably, is the first contact and / or more attractive to many fangrils with a vampire, they will not accept the traditional. as vampires SPARKLES in the SUN?

i started reading the book online right when it was released, and all i could think was how ridiculous it was, yet somehow it gained lot's of fangirls! right now, i'm not even sure if they're fans of the book, eduard, or robert pattinson.. either way they arent even real fans, which means twilight isnt liked, the characters are (atm, mostly the actors) i just find it stupid

Well first time I read the book, I didn't think it was that bad. Though the first half of the book was extremely boring because Bella is such a stupid tween, reading her giant monolouges about NOTHING really was hard to get through. Then the second half all the vampirey stuff are happening so it's mildly interesting. Anyway, my first read of Twilight was 'alright' - I didn't think it was great, actually pretty boring, and I didn't like Bella or Edward at all. But didn't think it was horrible either. Then, I read New Moon, and I realized SMeyer is a freaking retrard and that Bella is a mentally insane person who needs help ASAP. Also, poor Jacob.

The fans are crazy over this mediocre book. SMeyer uses Purple Prose incessantly. It's an overglorified fanfiction. The books are sexist. The characters are cardboard cutouts. Actually, the book is just there to spread Mormon propoganda. SMeyer makes her Mormon beliefs clear in the book, and they're the basis for 90% of it's so-called plot.

I hate TWilight because of fans making a huge deal out of it. I read the whole series. After reading it, I thought it was just major and absolute crap. I can't even believe that I waste $80 purchasing them too. (gave them too my sister, who's a Twilight fan) Its all over the Internet. "Twilight rocks!!! You should read it!!!" For the past few years, its getting bad. The movie makes it much worse. And, in comes the next new movie coming in Nov.

Having an open mind, I gave the first Twilight novel a try. BLECH! What a mistake that was! Talk about pure crapola! No wonder Stephen King slammed the Meyer woman. I could write better prose than that and I've never written anything substantial in my life. No wonder sane people hate Twilight!

I was actually drawn into it at first. Everyone was recommending it to me, telling me that it's awesome, amazing blah blah. So I told my dad to buy me the whole series. But when he got to the bookstore the only version they got was Breaking Dawn the last installment of the series. Since I was so excited to read the Twilight series I decided to read the last book so I can get a taste of it. Just after reading 2 pages of the book, I just didn't like Bella at all. I don't know why but her character really annoyed me. So after that I researched the series to see if I was the only one who didn't like her and low and behold, I found so many people who made me realize how awful it is and what bad influence it gave to young girls everywhere.

| I have yet to read the book but I have watched the movie. Which pretty much sucked major balls and I could barely watch it because I was too busy being embarrassed for the actors who couldn't even act. Plus the whole plot was WAY too romanticized and dramatized. When did vampires ever start "glittering in the sun" or have no fangs? Twilight ruined vampires in my opinion. Also, Edward was WAY too creepy. Watching Bella in her sleep and following her home... might as well be a stalker. Although before I fully judge this horrible series, I am going to read the books first (my sister owns them all and regrets ever getting them)... but I'm gonna read them in secret where no one will catch me reading them... >_> Yes, I'm embarrassed to even be seen reading Twilight in public. P.S. I freaking HATE Twitards. My school is covered in them! D: They either have Twilight backpacks on or a Twilight T-shirt on. | I've hated modern-day vampires to begin with because most of them, to me, are obnoxious, so Twilight was the straw that broke the camel's back. In reality, Edward Cullen is just a huge block of text. His perfection is based on the reader's imagination. He's just like a liquid; he doesn't have a set appearance and can take the form of the reader's deepest sexual desires. Characters that are too "perfect" like that annoy me. And then there's the fanbase. I've read stories of fans that have harassed, hazed, and beaten other people just because they don't like a book. I'd be dead before I would ever associate myself with those kinds of people. |

There's so many things I hate about this book, I hardly know where to start. But I'll try! 1. Bella is the most annoying bitch I've ever come across in a written story. She's supposed to be "boring and plain" yet seemingly half of all the boys at school (including a sparkling vampire) fall in love with, her while the girls are either jealous or admiring of her? Smells like Stephanie Meyer's inner fantasies about how she wishes her own school days were like to me. 2. Edward creeps the shit out of me with his stalker-ish behavior and inhuman perfection. And yet it NEVER creeps Bella out? If I was constantly being followed by some guy who keeps saying stuff like "you should stay away from me" and "I like watching you sleep", then I'd be kinda freaked out. 3. The "love story" taking place between them is the completely devoid of any real chemistry or development, making it stupid and unrealistic. "I hate you! No wait, you're hot, I love you." 4. Stephanie Meyer's way of writing sucks ass. 5. Sparkling vegetarian vampires. Need I say more? ... And I still haven't finished the first book yet.

Very short Twilight analysis: 1st book:At first I thought it was acceptable.Sure, the characters were cold and boring and I could think of loads and loads of anime male characters that were more charming than Edward. The writter's idea of beauty is horrible because a white skinned, cold like ice and hard like marble body can appeal only to a sick, sick and very sexually frustrated person.I also hated how most males in the book found Bella sexy and interesting when she was just a crappy teenager. So why didn't I hate the first book?It was relaxing and good to read before sleep. Not terribly philosophical or psychological, but likable. 2nd book:Boring.Bella's character development and transformation into a rebellious girl was boring and lousy.Edward's absence was more boring than Edward himself(I've never imagined that this could be ever possible).Vampires are supposed to be like the classic Dracula.Their strong point should be creating sexual tension and not their pretty faces. The Cullen's were boring(Alice was O.K. but never developed). And even Jacob was and idiotic brat.Worst book that I've ever read. 3rd book:Edward was always a stalker :)) .It's not romantic or dazzling, but funny as hell. It's idiotic.I'm not complaining that is sick because I've encountered sick romance in anime/manga.But please,Meyer,if your're gonna write about obsessive love do it well.I don't want to read about a girl who wants to do it with a statue and an equally frustrated 107 years old(probably virgin) vampire. It's just hard for me to take this book seriously. If New Moon was boring, than Eclipse was hilarious and annoying. I bought the last book and I'm gonna read it just because I don't like to let something unfinished. In the end,the idea(a vampire falling in love with a human) is not bad but the book is awfully written and full of cliches(like a soap opera).I wonder if this was ever meant to be good or Stephenie Meyer just wrote this for money. About the movie:It was well directed, the sound was great and the special effects were great. The actros were dreadful, though.

But to my utmost shame i was a twiliight fan for a month! a friend bought it and i read it obsessively, when i finally finished the series i realized that it was my teenage hormones enjoying the story not me.Meyers is a clever businuss woman to realize how to conn people like thIS but now i realize that Twilight is everlasting superficial lust not love. I really don't know what the hype is all about. I realize it's a new thing now and people go with the "fads" but this is ridicious!!! Vampires who sparkle in the sun?!?!?! Shouldn't Edward be dead???? I don't get it. Meyer has killed the Vampires and Werewolves and there is no hope for them now. |

When I first read it Sophomore year it was all right but I went back and read it a year later and I realized how badly it sucked. People praise Meyer for being a genius author when really all she is is a beginning author who butchered the idea of vampyres. Fans say the Twilight Saga is a new spin on vampyres when really it's just the authors wet dream romance put to paper.

AND it completely misrepresents what is supposed to be a, khem, 'vampire'. Besides, what the hell is with the stupid sparkling? I wish Dracula would come and kick that little faggot's ass. | The whole idea is sort of a joke. Let us make this prefect forbidden love sequence. I mean perfect down to the t. Where everything works out wonderfully. If anything the perfection of it really kills me. The characters I agree are quite terrible. But it makes me more then anything worry about the coming literature. I guess more then anything I prefer vampires to be as they were originally or perhaps like Anne Rice's vampires... When I saw the film I nearly died laughing it was terrible. I won't knock people who like it, I more or less just question their taste in reading. |

One word: fandom. I have seen the film in the past; my Twilight-fan friend wanted me to watch it with her. She just couldn't stop watching it. She watched it 3 or 4 times - per day. She spent a lot of night just to re-watch it again and again. When I saw the movie, it was simply neutral. I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it. It was just another movie that I have seen. But then I met with fandom. I wanted to search for something for my Vampire the Masquerade campagain, and I always found Twilight-related things, like "Edward is so hawt, and he is the hottest vampire ever!!!4!!!". I was fed up. -.- Then I started to hate this whole Twilight-thing. I have only seen girls on the bus with Twilight-books, and the internet is full of fangirls who are screaming that "Edward is my husbandu"! (...or waifu). I'm simply fed up with them. They are annoying, agressive, and ridiculous. Bitches. -.-

OK. Ill make this clear first: I watched the movie, and read the first.... 2 pages of the first book. Thats what Im basing this on. :B -- Kay, Why do I HATE Twilight? -SMeyer REALLY cant write well at all. The way she wrote the book did not draw me in at all. I was disappointed and confused as to how people got into it... :[ BUT of they like it... okay fine. Just dont drag me down with you. 83 -I skimmed through some of the first book and all I kept seeing descriptions that were..... it was like she used a thesaurus for every other word in the book. It was just...... Wow. PURPLE PROSE. -Meyer obviously doesnt know the REAL vampire myth..... Vampires that SPARKLE? REALLY? IN THE SUN? Vampires shouldnt even survive in the sun! Ugh... GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT YOU FGT. B[ -The movie....... it sucked more ass than anything Ive seen. And Ive seen some really sucky stuff. The actors couldnt act, the effects were okay but the sparkle effect was.... well it was crap. Way overdone. It was like... he was a pile of broken glass. -The characters, in my opinion, seem like they are thought out as the story progresses, instead of thought out BEFORE the story is written. Its like... Bella starts out all plain and 'normal' or whatever and qiet-doesnt talk to anyone, then as the story progresses, she becomes this lustful young girl who wants to be stalked by a creepy guy. I mean..... WTH... -The story is just FULL of cliche everything and horrid character development. >: I find it to be a sad, sad excuse for a book.... u.u And my poor mind was corrupted by that movie.... It realllllyyy was. Now I have to go watch some Harry Potter.... to wash this corruption out. HP is WAY better anyway. It doesnt promote stalking, anti-feminism, making out, etc etc. *shot*

I don't think I can say that I hate the book. But it's because I read it in russian, and somehow they translated it better than it was in the original.Meyer's writing is horrible, that's for sure. That's first.Second- the way Bella found out about Edward being a vampire was..gah,FAIL..I even stopped reading for some moments thinking about Meyer's imagination.Because she obviously didn't have it at that time. And what made it worse- the unrealistic number of fans, and not just simple fans, but those hysterical girls under the age of 15 that make so much noise about the book. Either they don't read books, either they are, pardon the word,stupid-because of the mess they make out of the whole "vampire" idea like it's something oh so new and fresh, and not a story long old like my grandfather. In rest,I'm now reading the 4th book, closing my eyes on Meyer's little failures in writing. Last,I say it again.I don't hate the books. The story in fact is quite interesting starting from the point Jacob Black comes in,and I can even tell that I'll enjoy the 2'nd movie much more that the first. So,there.I spoke my mind xD At last
