I just finished A Dance With Dragons. Meh. It was okay.

Also, and don't laugh, my SO insisted my childhood must have been terrible because I didn't get to experience the wonder that is Goosebumps. So I've been reading a bunch of those (we bought them from a thrift store for ~50c-$1) and they're actually pretty enjoyable. The writing is very simple but some managed to be unpredictable, and they're quite entertaining. I usually knock one out in an afternoon.

I'm planning to read the Spice and Wolf novels after this.

Yeah, the last two ASOIF books were a little disappointing, though I really enjoyed the tyrion parts in A Dance with Dragons.

what type of books do you like? If your into fantasy the mistborn trilogy is really good but if you prefer YA the perks of being a wallflower is also really good.

Right now I'm reading The DaVinci Code. It's such an amazing book, and I've also seen the movie.

I also just finished reading the last book to the Beautiful Creatures series and another by David Levithan called Every Day.

Reading Airborn by Kenneth Oppel, it's the first book in the trilogy and it's a really good one. Can't wait to start reading the second one.

The next book I'm going to read is East of A by Russel Atwood.

Not really reading anything now but I plan on reading The Great Gatsby and finishing World War Z, which incidentally has nothing to do with the new movie.

World War Z was really good and I am 99% positive the movie is going to terrible. Or at the very least it will be nothing like the book. :(

I remember hating The Great Gatsby when I first read it. I hated it the second time I read it. Then I realized it was a great book and I only hated most of the characters.

I'm currently reading all of Haruki Murakami's books. Just finished After dark (pretty good for 200pgs) and half way through A wild sheep chase - Not as good as the wind up bird chronicle but still a good read.

I just finished Tokyo Vice which was this autobiography of this American who, despite the odds, got a job as a police reporter for a Japanese newspaper. It covers some of his more interesting stories from human trafficking to a Yakuza cover-up. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to understand more about sex crimes, the Yakuza, or Japan in general. Fantastic read.

Tomorrow I'm going to start Ganymede. It's this steampunk adventure about an air pirate in alt-history America where the Civil War didn't end. I think it takes place in New Orleans, which is one of my favorite settings for stories.

I'm taking a break from fantasy titles and I'm currently reading Ian Fleming's Casino Royale. I actually want to read all of Sir Fleming's 007 James Bond novels, I have two so far: Casino Royale and From Russia With Love.

They are not for everyone, the tone is pretty dark but i really liked them. Iif you like books where not all the Heroes come on top then defiantly give them another go. They are a nice change of pace from most other fantasy books i find

From Russian with Love is one of his better novels. Live and Let Die is another favorite of mine.

Yep. The first book is a lot different compared to the rest. It's well worth reading up to book four at least. After that the quality begins to deteriorate.

I just finished All Quiet on the Western Front for my History of Germany class yesterday. I loved it. It was devastatingly effective, poetic and brutal at once, while helping me to confront many of the feelings that I've held about my army experience for sometime now. Masterpiece and classic doesn't even begin to describe it. Quite a beautiful, if not challenging, read that I recommend to any and everyone.

I've started and dropped this series a few times; I've had a very hard time maintaining interest. I generally enjoy King's standalone books, most recently Under The Dome, Cell, and then some of the other classics like The Stand. However, I would really recommend reading first The Shining, and then Doctor Sleep. He recently released the latter, and it was extremely enjoyable.

Christopher Moore is awesome. I'd encourage you to read some of his others, specifically The Stupidest Angel.

I'm currently reading (for fun) The Getaway God by Richard Kardrey. It's the sixth book in a series that begins with Sandman Slim. It's a very dark urban fantasy that makes me happy for some reason, and it's generally entertaining. People who are fans of The Iron Druid Chronicles or Jim Butcher will find similar themes and probably like the series.

Anyone else holding their breath for the next Brandon Sanderson Stormlight Archive book to come out?
