Well I can't really name one favourite as I have many anime I thought were good in the different genres but I guess I can list a few of them:

Angel Beats!
Bakemonogatari + sequels
Cowboy Bebop
D-Frag!
Dog Days
Fairy Tail
Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?
Hayate no Gotoku - all seasons
InuYasha
Jinsei
K-ON!
Lucky Star
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ( Best mahou shoujo anime in my opinion)
No Game No Life
Oda Nobuna no Yabou
Peace Maker Kurogane
R.O.D the TV
Shingeki no Kyojin
The iDOLM@STER
Toaru Majutsu no Index + Toaru Kagaku No Railgun
Wolf's Rain
Yuru Yuri
Zero no Tsukaima

There's lots more that I really enjoyed but I'm keeping the list relatively short.
