Episode 1 – Journey Begins.

“Which way did they go!?”
“I think they went this way!”
“You think!?”
“Yes...I mean no! I saw them go this way!”
“Just find them already you fucking useless idiots!!”

In the death of the night under the moonlit streets the orders of several men roared across what should be quiet night streets. With his pale colored hand running through the front of his medium dark brown hair the youngest man of the group who looked no older than 20 himself seemed to be the one in charge. With a low quiet sigh his eagle like eyes scanned the closest street to him not that much could be seen in the dim moonlight. As beautiful as the moon was while standing in all its glory above the clear night sky it was practically useless for the man and his subordinates with the soft glow doing nothing to aid them in their search for the people they were after. As keen as his eyes were even he could only make out the rough shapes of objects or at least of the ones further away, if they were close it was easier to see what things were but as for finding people hiding in shadows it was practically impossible. The streets themselves were deserted due to the time of the night so that was a good thing, if anybody was on the streets then it was probably the people he was after...unless they had managed to find some place to hide in for the night. In a city no island as large as the one they were currently in they would never be able to search everywhere in one bloody night...the more things that seemed to be in his favour only served to hinder him even more, his temper gradually reaching exploding point like that of a dormant volcano waiting for its chance to explode.

“God dammit...you bastards.” His right fist colliding violently with the hard concrete of the building wall as his blood slowly ran down the building from his fist. Letting his fist fall back down by his side the man’s blood ran between his finger tips before slowly dripping on the ground below his very feet...a small crater forming in the wall from the small simple punch.

Taking a small break from the search the man calmed his mind before harnessing his senses boosting them to their maximum. He would find them he had no choice to find the people or his very life could be over and all because of two people...he wouldn’t let it happen not after how far he had come. Finally having calmed down he could focus his mind on thinking like the scared rats that he was hunting down, if he was running what would he do if he was them or how would he try and escape...he needed to corner them more perhaps push them to some sort of location. If he could trap them then he wouldn’t need to search endlessly through the god damn island...Wait Island? “Close of the city now before they get out!” the commanding tone rang through the Den Den Mushi. His voice no longer held any uncertainty or fear instead it held ironclad confidence. His men on the outskirts of the city soon formed an terrifying impenetrable ring for the group that were running from them...it was only a matter of time before they fell into his hands now...he was so close to catching them he could taste their fear and sweat.

“Listen to me Adam.”
“whats going on?”
“Nothing we are just playing a game that’s all...”
“With father and brother?”
“Yes, we can’t let them find us.”
“Mhmm...brother killed her...”
“Shh.”

The soft sweaty palm of the woman’s hand covered the cold mouth of the young boy beside her, her quite voice gentle running along the air barely reaching his ears. The boy taking his time to look towards the woman’s fairly nice sized chest not that he was looking at her breasts but more at her panting chest. She was breathing in short sharp breathes probably from the running they had been doing all night or maybe it was down to be hunted by their very own family. Studying her chest from a few seconds he turned his attention to his own while resting his hand over his very own chest, there was no panting coming from him...his breathing also seemed to be fairly normal even if his breath was fairly cold but that was because of the season they were in. It wasn’t exactly a nice night with the cold wind slicing through the body with the people often calling it the lazy sort of wind since it didn’t take its time to blow around you...instead it would blow right through you freezing you to the very core or maybe that was also down to the rain...it was cold and they barely wore anything to keep them warm. They were both wrapped in dark cloaks it was the first thing she could find to help conceal themselves and although they did their best at keeping the rain out they had failed at doing that task hours ago. To be fair to the cloaks the rain was relentless along with the wind on the clear night...the clouds weren’t there to help shield them from the wind either. Both the boy and his mother were shivering from the conditions of the night well his mother was shivering even more due to actually know how much danger they were in.

Slowly making their way through the back streets each time they reached the end of one the boy’s mother would hide him while she looked around the corner of the next street. Hoping, praying and begging that the next street would be just as empty as the last as they made their way down towards the peer it was the last chance they had of escape...their ticket to freedom from the horrible vile creatures hunting them down. It was only a few more streets away they were so close that the salty cold taste of the ocean rested invitingly against their lips the heavenly taste becoming a bright light in the dark night. A signal from God that they were oh so close to reaching their ultimate goal of freedom...bang Reality had caught back up to the pair of traitors and hit them hard! The young boy standing in shock or was it fear...no it was both. The sound of the gunshot echoed throughout the dead city not that the boy even cared about that instead his eyes were on his falling mother. The shot pierced through the side of his mother as she fell down to one knee, the bullet passed straight through her body. Blood gushed out of her body like a fountain of red liquid with the streets becoming stained in the blood. Her scream of agony acting like a light to moths as soon the hunters rushed towards their location. The peer being so close and yet so far away at the same time...the boy in a blind moment of anger and rage exploded his blade flying from its sheathe slicing through the person’s body responsible for causing his mom so much pain. The very body of the man falling in half straight down the centre with the building behind him had also taken some heavy damage with the all having a straight cut straight down the centre. The blood from the man covered the entire street while the demonic eyes of the boy glowed with anger like never before his blood rushing through his entire body as his thirst for vengeance and blood came rushing to the surface.

“Adam...help me up...”
“Mom!”
“i..i...im fi...ne.”
“You can’t leave me to!”
“si...lly litt...ttle bo..y i am no...t le..avi..ing”

By now the blood was flowing down from her very mouth with each and every breath she took or for each word she spoke. Her sharp panting had turned into gasps as she clutched for any air she could get into her lungs while leaning onto the boy’s shoulder. The streets slowly fading from in front of her the dim light of the moon no longer existed instead only the muffled sounds of gunfire and screams could be heard and even they were fading fast. It didn’t matter anymore she just needed to last long enough to reach the peer and everything would be work out somehow or that was what she had to believe at least. Bullets pierced her arms and legs while others passed her by but with the amount of bullets fizzing around them both it was hard to distinguish if it was even raining anymore. She lacked the strength to cry in pain anymore no she just didn’t even feel anything anymore only her body slowly becoming colder and colder soon she would probably feel like an ice statue. Bullets had also pierced the boy or at least had wounded him the only difference being that for some reason the bullets were deflected away from his vital areas. Bullets that should have pierced his heart and other such areas instead only grazed him while ones that fired into his arms and other such areas actually cut him making it harder to move...his pace slowing down.

“Adam...lo...ok ahe..c...an...you s..ee shi...”
“Mhmm they are right ahead of us mom...I promise.”
“liv...on”
“...”

Both had dropped to the floor under the rain as it washed their bodies clean while also serving to hide the tears running down his face. His moms limp body beside him with her very final words being something he could barely hear never mind follow them. The ships being agonisingly close to them and yet he no longer had the strength to reach them...it was over they had lost the game and with it their very lives. Adam couldn’t help but smile at the end. It wasn’t exactly a bad night to die on even if he had yet to live. The moon was out in all its glory and the night sky was clear as well with the starts lighting up...like a god calling him to heaven or maybe hell it didn’t really matter. If he was lucky he would get to be with his sister and mom again and if not then he would pay for all his sins up to this point...indeed killing people was no game but it had helped him live with his choices up until now. Closing his eyes Adam slowly fell to sleep under the cold rain of the night sky...his peaceful face as he lay beside his mom was probably a beautiful while tragic site at the same time with their bodies being surrounded in cold diluted blood from the rain.

Days had passed since that dark night of when both a boy and his mom came under attack by the greatest monsters they had probably ever seen. The night they had come under attack from their very own family the people they should have been able to trust more than any other in the world had ruthlessly slaughtered them...but one of them survived one of them clung to life as much as was humanly possible no it was beyond what was possible!

The sound of roaring waves echoed throughout the chamber as they collided with the sides of the ship rocking it side to side only this wasn’t some cradle being rocked gently by a baby’s mother. No this was a ship being shaken to its core by the relentless waves thirsting for blood or so it seemed, with each wave threatening to capsize the ship. The ship stood firm though even with the mightiest waves that the ocean could throw at it the ship stood stubbornly rooted to the surface, it wasn’t going to lose this battle not after having sailed for years...it had seen waves like this many times and each time it had came through with a few scars but relatively unharmed! The storm did disturb something inside the shape or to be exact it did disturb a person from his slumber, the persons arm flailing around outside the bed as it rested just below the wood floors surface...the person’s eyes slowly opening up from his deep sleep. “Owww...” his voice being dry from the lack of use his hand covering his eyes blocking as much of the light as possible. The lights in the cabin seemed to be on with them burning the young boy’s eyes or at least they did until his eyes finally adjusted to actually being open for once.

“So I did die and ended up here? This is a shitty looking heaven or wherever...” with a yawn the young boy moved his hand down from his eyes with them having adjusted to the brightness of the light. His hand rested over his mouth while he yawned with his eyes glancing down at the bandages wrapped firmly around his arms. Come to think of it his clothes were different he wasn’t wearing his long black jacket but instead he was wearing some...rags would be putting it nicely. The shirt was torn in half down the centre finally joining back up to its other half just below his chest while his pants had several holes running down the front and sides of them. Well despite them looking like pieces of shit that some sort of homeless person would wear they were fairly comfortable even if they didn’t suit his tastes or style. The again they were something a homeless person would wear and here he was dead and homeless so they suited him perfectly. As he sat up on the edge of the old rustic looking bed he noticed that there were some old looking shoes that looked they had been through a war and lost it badly! Lucky enough there weren’t any holes in them so they should be able to carry out their function rather well or better than his clothes at least.

“This is fucking perfect...I’m in this shit hole dressed in shit which is perfect for a piece of shit like me!” Kuro fell back down on the bed he was laying in and he couldn’t help but laugh at how hopeless a situation he was in. Hell sure was a strange and amusing place...somebody certainly knew how to be funny in this world. “h-hey you! d—don’t speak like that about my father’s things!” the mumbling voice came from the other side of the room with a person’s blonde hair half sticking out...if they were hiding then they were doing it half arsed.

Kuro let out one last yawn as he listened to the words from the figure in the shadows the tone of the voice was rather soft like that of a girl. Kuro closed one eye while looking at the figure the girl had blonde hair or so it seemed in the shade of light that was touching her hair. Reaching back as he stretched Kuro’s fingers grasped at the handle of something familiar it was the handle of a sword...these people had taken his clothes and yet had been stupid enough to leave his weapon right by his side. Oh well it wasn’t something Kuro was going to worry about if they wanted to underestimate or be so foolish as to leave his weapon by his side then he would surely oblige them and send them to hell! Well if they were already in hell then he couldn’t send them there...so where do people go when they die in hell? He would find that out now as soon as he could bring his sword down on the figures neck. Or so he had planned but unfortunately his hand wouldn’t move any further in front of his and all because of a familiar man preventing him. Kuro growled in anger towards the man as he stopped him in his tracks, the small slender figure had fallen over in fear the small petite head of the boy sticking out from the shadows. The tone of the voice matched the girl like nature of the boy’s body perfectly but Kuro didn’t care he just wanted to behead him before he got attacked himself.

“Let go of me you old bastard!”
“Listen to me and calm down you damn brat.”
“I don’t wanna!”
“Stop waving your damn sword about you idiot!”
“I will kill every demon in my path you old bastard!”
“Demons? What the fuck are you talking about kid?”
“This is hell for everything I’ve done and he is a demon of course!”
“...”

The dumb founded silence filled the room after the last words that were spoken by Kuro before the old man burst out in laughter so much that his eyes actually began to water from laughing so hard. It took a few minutes for the man to calm down as he wiped the tears from his old weary eyes. “You’re alive you idiot...wow you are a piece of work. The first thing you think of when you wake up is that you’re dead and in hell...that is something else!” the old man could barely contain his laughter at Kuro and his way of thinking. Well even if it was funny and amusing at the same time it wasn’t considering one would normally hope for heaven and yet here was a boy thinking of hell. By now the young blonde boy had clambered out of the room on his all fours as he burst free of the cabin only to catch the largest gust of wind that the storm could summon, with his body sent clashing backwards towards the side of the ship. Normally that would be the worst of it but for some reason this storm seemed hell bent on taking at least one member of the crew with it even if it was some young kid who had yet to even live. A gigantic wave crashing into the side of the ship the sheer size of the wave meant that volumes of water had rushed over the deck sweeping up anything in its path. For the old ragged crew members this was simply another routine day however for the young blonde boy it was something new...it was his first true voyage into the ocean with his father...

The fearful sound of the boy’s screams could barely be heard over the roaring ocean but it could be heard causing a heart in the mouth moment for the entire crew but without a doubt the man with the biggest broken heart was the father of the boy. The large well built blonde haired man grasped at the hand of his son only for him to be a second to late it wasn’t as if he could dive into the ocean for his son either...the waves would sweep them both away but more than anything it was taking all of them to keep the ship on course and afloat in the storm! Torn between the crew and his very own son the man didn’t know what to do it was an impossible decision to make! He could only close his eyes and hope his son would die a quick painless death while they sailed through the storm it would be something that would life with him for the rest of his life. “Hey wait Adam!” Kuro didn’t respond to the voice of the old man that had stopped him from killing the boy. Instead he rushed as fast as he could towards the side of the ship, with the rain quickly soaking through his white top the bandages under it becoming visible for anybody to see. He probably shouldn’t even be moving around let alone risking his life on top of the deck but worst of all was the thought running through his head. “Rope give me a god damn fucking rope right now!” The boy’s father had no idea why Kuro wanted or needed a rope it made no difference since the waves were to powerful for his son to catch the rope and pull himself back to the ship.

Still he smiled at the fact that Kuro wanted to help and save his son even if he didn’t know him he could tell that Kuro wasn’t exactly an evil boy. He didn’t bother handing Kuro the rope though since it was really pointlessly after all he had seen this same situation happen so many times that it pained him at his own weakness. “Whatever this will do!” Kuro sighed while wrapping one of the ropes used for fishing around himself it was a thick strong rope attacked to the side of the ship probably something used for catching the bigger fish like sea monsters and so on. Before anybody could even move Kuro had leapt from the side of the ship plunging head face into the ocean, it was cold so fucking cold that he could feel his very bones freezing. The waves were strong as well far stronger than he had anticipated and there was no way he could do battle with both the waves and storm or at least there wasn’t any way he could possibly win. To add to all things his wounds were beginning to open up from his swimming into the waves all to reach some stupid kid he didn’t even know...maybe it was because he had failed to save his sister or mother. “Tempest blade!” the roaring sounds of the waves were soon cut in half by the might roar from Kuro who wasn’t going to back down or lose against the sea. Along with his mighty roar was the sound of the ocean waves being cut in half directly in front of him, with his blade being held above his head he brought it down clashing down into the ocean surface. The tip of his steel blade having an otherworldly glow to it almost magical but the most amazing part of all was that the waves in front of him had parted from the shockwave or to put it better they had been severed in half clearing a path from him to the almost drowning boy.

Once the waves had been sliced in half it was a short distance between himself and the blonde kid something which he closed within a second or two. Flinching slightly as his wounds were threatening to burst open fully Kuro despite being no older than 15 knew he hadn’t long left. The blood had already began to seep through the bandages around his waist as they turned the water closest to them into a dark shade of red but then again the ocean was already dark from the storm. The problem with blood was that it often attracted certain dangerous things you probably didn’t want to meat in the ocean...mainly ones that actually fed on meat. The only advantage of them being stuck out in the ocean while the storm was raging on was that Kuro was in a deadly situation with his very life on the line. In such circumstances he could access his latent sleeping potential even if he did it without knowing or even using it to its fullest potential but it was enough to help them get through it hopefully. “watch out!”Kuro yelled out towards the boy as he finished tying another one of the ropes around him, he didn’t know how but he had already seen them devoured by a creature in the ocean. Its giant teeth ripped through their flesh like it was nothing while it snapped its large merciless jaws around their bodies snapping their bones like twigs. It had already happened he was sure of it! Yet they were still here alive and struggling in the water...had he seen the future? Had god showed him the future so that he could live? Or was it perhaps his mother still doing her best to help him.

Tempest step. Kuro pushed the boy away from him by placing his hand on the boys chest, the physical abilities of Kuro had been heightened for a brief moment although under his current condition that wasn’t exactly a good idea. His breathing had increased greatly as well as the blood running down from his wounds he was almost at exhaustion point, the ship itself fading away even if it was at the same distance as before it looked so much further away. It was a feeling he had already felt before one that was still fresh in his memories considering it had only recently happened but this time he would make sure to save the boy at least. He would use every last ounce of his strength without worrying about leaving some to spare for once it was an all or nothing gamble with everything on the line. The storm was back to its full power thriving at its chance to take both Kuro and the boy down to the depths of the ocean floor were they would surely die. The giant shark like creature was circling both of them after its missed strike waiting for its chance to devour them both, the time was coming soon with each circle around them it had drawn in closer. “Tempest...whirlwind!” Kuro used every second he could to gather all of his remaining strength channelling it into his blade. The blade moving in a usual flowing motion and yet at the same time it was a powerful motion that would easily slice anything in its path. For a moment it seemed like time had slowed down even if it hadn’t really but for the blonde haired boy he could only watch on in both hope and awe. The water around the both of them exploding upwards throwing both Kuro and the boy high into the air with the water swirling around beneath them it was if Kuro had brought the water under the control of his blade even if that wasn’t what had really happened. Above the ocean and the ship they could feel the fresh wind and water smashing against them although right now the rain felt warm due to the freezing temperatures of the ocean water...Kuro had finally passed out from exhaustion while they were in the air. His gamble though had paid off as a bright light appeared in the air above them with both of their collars being yanked back as they dangled in the air above the ship. “Honestly...so much damn trouble aren’t ya Adam! From now on your Ku...never mind your not even awake!” the old man from before let out a small laugh while looking down at them both sleeping...well they earned their rest.
