This thread will serve as the Introduction thread. Feel free to tell a little about yourself and your experience with Uchuu Kyoudai (if you follow the anime or the manga, your first impression and how you feel now, etc)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll go first. I am Introverturtle, you can call me anything. Stumbled upon Uchuu Kyoudai the day it aired, didn't hear much about it before.
Was blown away by the first episode, the music, the story, the characters all seemed to click with me and had me looking forward to the rest of the story. And being an SoL about a grown man following his dreams is unique in today's anime and in anime in general. Glad that it's still going and I'm still enjoying it as much as the beginning.
I have this at a 9, I want to raise it to a 10, but I feel I won't be able to unless Mutta makes it to space. His dream is an important part of the show and I know it probably won't be cancelled or end before, but the story won't feel complete to me until then.

I am Okkyblight, you can call me kyno or anything. Well, uchuu kyoudai is an anime that can makes me feel blessed that i am still alive. Just by watching the first episode, i have a good feeling that this anime would be my top anime and its really happen.

What makes me like Uchuu Kyoudai was this anime wasnt like the other anime that i have ever found. The way how story progress fascinating me. Its so detailed and every explanation that they brings was really fun to follow. Watching Uchuu Kyoudai like hearing a teacher explaining about space, you wouldnt just get entertained but also got educational material (specifically about space and NASA)

Furthermore, The character is great. Nanba Mutta is really man of the match. He is so different with other character anime that i've ever saw. The way how he solving the problems and the way how he thinking is really remarkable and moreover, the way how he mumbling to himself and commenting every scenes that happen to him is very funny.

I rarely rate an anime with 10, but i feel Uchuu Kyoudai is deserves to have this score. Even its still airing, i believe Uchuu Kyoudai will never let me down. My weeks never completed if i havent watched Uchuu Kyoudai.

Oh, finally.. uchuu kyoudai club.
I am Syndalf. at first, i wasn't really interested about the whole things about space or astronaut. The one i'm interested in was Nanba Mutta development. I was in the middle of recruitment test for a job back then, and this anime gave me a spirit!
Nanba Mutta gave me an idea of how i should act on the tests :P
well, put that things aside. i really like Nanba Mutta character and personality, i don't know how i should put it, it's unique i think, and his joke never fail to amuse me!
i just hope this anime won't end soon! i want to see more and more of his training and eventually go to space and build Sharon's telescope!

I'm concerned about how he gave you spirit. Did you do this or this? Or or was it possibly the chair thing, that would be embarrassing.

Welcome to the club you two.

I am Rizzles, you can call me Rizzles, but for $3.92 an hour I will be whoever you want me to be. I stumbled across Uchuu Kyoudai and just started watching it on a whim because I saw it was airing each week and it just took my curiosity, when I checked on MAL it didn't have a lot of viewers but was highly rated among those watching it. I am only watching the anime and have it rated at a 9/10 for the time being, to be honest this show gives me more feels than the likes of Clannad, and is probably one of the best slice of life shows I have ever seen. Even if the show is rather predictable, in a way that makes it all the more suspicious of whether or not they will throw a curve-ball that you are not expecting.

I bet you're glad you didn't do anything like this or else you would have been thrown out.

Hello i'm parfaited you can also call me anything.
I will also be whoever you want me to be but do note that I charge more an hour than Rizzles.

I heard mentions of the manga before but I honestly paid it no mind and I saw the anime on one of those seasonal anime charts.
This was going to air the same season other shows like Sakamichi no Apollon and the promise of Shinichiro Watanabe and a new project stole the spotlight from this.

I was extremely impressed upon seeing the first episode.
Come on now, there's a guy with an afro shooting rainbows out of his nose in the OP.
I could not find anything there that I didn't love.

For all the time I spent insulting A-1, they are really on point with this.
I don't understand how they can be so brilliant with SoL and fail with pretty much everything else.
But I digress and that's definitely a topic that belongs elsewhere.

Can't say i'm as harsh at giving 10's like others here (though I don't think I give them away too easily either) but this to me truly does deserve it.
Mutta is a wonderful MC he's entertaining in his own special way. His and Hibito's relationship is fantastic.

Excuse me while I go off on a tangent but it weirds me out so much when people ship them sexually oh Pixiv and the Internet why do you do this to me?.
Yes I know rule 34 but some things are beautiful as they are and I wish rule 34 would stay away from them. :c

Anyway this show is feels feels feels feels all kinds of feels and i'm going to be really honest with you guys when I say I cry a lot while watching. I turn into a mess and I can't help it. I've tried but nope... I can't help it.

Yup this gif is essentially my life in a nutshell.

Hello there, I'm Lili-chwaaan! You can call me... uhm... Lili(th) I guess.

I stumbled upon this series when I checked my weekly fix of HorribleSubs releases, gave it a try and loved it ever since. I'm usually not that fond of SoL but this anime does it so incredibly well. It's one of my favourite anime's of all time and one of the few I still watch on a weekly basis.

I love the contrast between Mutta and Hibito and the relationship between them. Being the eldest of my siblings I can completely relate to Mutta in that sense. Other than that it's just so refreshing. Being an adult can be tough but this anime gives me the whole 'ganbare!' feeling.

On a side note, I agree, this show is feels feels feels indeed. Turns me into a mess too at times, leaving me unable to suppress the tears and I love it for that. Man, this series is just too good.
Ero-Sennin got nothing on me.

Hey people (first comment on this thread in six years O_O). I came across this series back in 2016, before I really got into anime. It was one of the first anime series I started watching on a streaming site, and I've been watching it on-and-off since (I still haven't finished it yet!). I really love the story and characters, and they were a major reason for me finally getting into anime fully a few years later.
