I read that. She was trying to be perfect for Mitsuo.

She is perfect!

That said, I wouldn't want to be dating her, in reality or in her mind, when her jealous side flares. She is perfectly dangerous too....

The more I read of the manga the more I'm thinking that this Kouka is a couple eggs short of a dozen. Psychologists would have a field day with her with regards to her co-dependency issues.

I say yes. She's been to co-dependent in Yana-chan. At least now we see her rejected and becoming more independent. Her true personality is appearing.

"Co"-dependent? It was much more one-sided than that. But she had her effect on Mitsuo, for both good and bad. See LN volume 3, chapter 2, near the end. Kouko did some things to Mitsuo: She made him think he was really something, she kept him from ever learning how to properly associate with girls, and finally, she made him restless in a way most guys would be if they had never associated with more than one girl.

Everybody needs to have the opportunity to see for him/her-self just what is out there, so that when he/she finally makes his/her choice, he/she will have fewer unanswered questions and fewer possible regrets. It reduces the "the grass is greener over there" syndrome. Mitsuo was suffering from an extreme form of that frustration.

I guess she had a very bad problem because she saw mitsuo as an "ideal" man and like rpapo said she has the same problem only associating with him
