| killua is sick, we get to see his assassin side emerge and Gon almost gets the ball from the president. I'm really starting to dig these characters and their interactions with each other. |

| Gon reminds me a lot of Goku from DBZ. and Kilua reminds me of Sasuke from Naruto, except a lot less emo and stupid. And I guess it should be the other way around, since this came first. The characters are finally beginning to materialize! Good episode! |

| Awesome episode, Netero reminds me of Master Roshi a bit and Gon trying to get the ball off him was definitely Dragonball style. Also, Killua has some sick moves :P |

| That old geezer is super strong, like in most other shounen as well. Guess he's the Mutenroshi of HxH, defintely one of the best characters now. |
 I gotta say, the animation in this anime is great. Especially considering that it’s from the late 90’s. I’m shocked the movements are so fluid. They must’ve had a grand budget. Lol, Killua must be an advocate for true gender equality. 😂 He shows that chick no mercy, thereafter knocking her out cold. I really like the MC Gon. Most MC’s his age seem to be impulsive and whiny and emotional and never take anything seriously — but Got is none of that. He’s just a kind kid who shows everyone respect from the get-go. Never showing any signs of rebelliousness. And I really appreciate how, in this episode, Gon was given an objective — steal the ball from the old man — and he spent all episode trying to do it (with the reward of a Hunter’s License dangling in front of him) ……… and yet, he technically never accomplished the objective. This is such an unconventional plot technique. Usually an MC is given a task and the audience eagerly watched through the episode hoping for and anticipating inevitable triumph. However, in this episode, the MC’s technically ended up failing. They couldn’t steal the ball from the MC or clear the charges of the female contender — whereas, in a more conventional anime this would’ve been the case. I’m impressed. You never know what to expect in this show. I honestly couldn’t guess myself what the outcome by the end of the episode would’ve been, as I could see both playing out. |

| Yeah, is not really explained 100% to us what each one of them where trying to accomplish (at least not in the dub version I was watching). It almost feel like they did it just to justify this scene with Menchi in a towel. |

| Did they make this mini filler arc just to justify Killua's assassin status and make him seem like a good guy? Why would Killua ever say " Your happiness was built upon the misfortune of others" to that girl? I hate this. |

| yea this was the first episode where you could def tell a much darker tone here. wasn't so sure how i felt about this adaptation so far, but cant lie the ost and the tone is on point. loved the presentation around killuas scenes and the contrast to gons shining aura that even starts to reflect on killua now |
