| Allow me to start off by saying that my knowledge of Japanese religions is pretty weak. I wouldn't be able to tell where Shinto ends and Zen Buddhism begins. That said, I'm curious as to how the universe, as described in the show, compares to what is seen in the majority religions in Japan. Do they fit one to one? Did the writers make a few major alterations for the sake of the story? Or did they create this all out of whole cloth? It's a long shot but I'm curious if anybody here knows of any essays or analyses that detail Kyousougiga's cosmology as it pertains to the Japanese world view. Preferably something that can be viewed online, of course. |
