When I start to read Minoru I wasn't expecting something big, I just like the art e started to follow the flow. I'm glad i followed that flow!

Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru isn't perfect, of course! There are a lot of details that lack in care, some characters that are bad used and some characters that are complete useless, there was no need for them there.

I belive that in some parts the author lost the track, the final part feels rushed and not really completed. Even though, we are given a ending, not perfect, but possible!

I really think that, ... if you like seinen, sports and comedy, Minoru will be a good reading! The fighting scenes are awesome, the history is really good, the main characters are good! Good enough to "fix" the bad parts!

So give it a try ;)

So much wasted potential. There are some awesome moments that'll be a treat to any combat sports fan, but ultimately the experience of reading this manga is that of being blueballed. It also feels as though the main character, Minoru, never really comes into his own. He seems to have anti-plot armor, where he wins up until a crucial moment, at which point he gets caught with some move and loses. The main villains are never confronted, the main character never really gets his concluding arc, and the rival characters pretty much never get any real action. Samart and Singhsak are awesome villains, and they ... get awesome levels of hype, but they are never confronted. Minoru spends the entire series never really achieving anything, always coming up short.

This series could have easily been the greatest combat sports manga of all time if it actually delivered on it's premises.

Overall, I would not really recommend reading this manga, as it just leaves you with disappointment that nothing gets resolved at the end.

This has to be one of if not the worst sport manga I've ever read, first of all, the plot is pretty much non-existent, the author basically forgot about the plot when the first 200 chapters were done. It has great martial arts and art sometimes, but holy hell if it is not wasteful.

As you may have noticed, the manga is 500 chapters, you may think this is a lot of chapters, and you are right, but not for this type of story. The author is very clearly inspired by Hajime no Ippo, but no disrespect he is a million times worse at being ... an author than George Morikawa who has such an incredibly diverse and large cast but still makes each one of them shine. This was not the case for this manga, the MC is basically forgotten for close to 300 chapters, instead the focus shifts to another character to the point you would think this character is the MC. And in the end, it did not pay off. And don't let me talk about original crew, they literally have only ONE match in the entire 500 chapters and then they are forgotten till the final 10 chapters where they are given pity wins.

Don't get me started on wasted plotlines, on wasted characters, on promises given to us and never delivered upon. This manga if I need to describe it in two word it would be: Empty Promises. Don't get your hopes up cuz the author won't deliver. If you are entering this manga thinking of seeing a story about a boy who becomes something more, then you will be disappointed, this is a manga about an author who just wants to flex his knowledge about martial arts.

Do you know how bad this story got? I literally skimmed the last 66 chapters and still got everything. BTW in those 66 chapters only THREE fights occurred, can you guess how many were the MC's? That's right, only ONE!

I don't recommend this manga, I know it is not, but it feels like a mockery of all long running sports manga like Ippo, it is a manga thinking itself deep and philosophical, but instead, its just feels pretentious.
