'Gintama' Franchise Gets New Anime

The Gintama Shirogane Matsuri 2019 (Kari) event announced production for a new anime for the Gintama franchise on Sunday. The format of the new anime was not revealed.

Gintama is based on Hideaki Sorachi's manga of the same name. It has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine since December 2003. Shueisha published the 76th volume on January 4.

The manga has received multiple anime adaptations since 2006, with Sunrise helming the first three anime seasons and Bandai Namco Pictures producing the rest. A live-action movie premiered last July. A second movie is planned for an August screening.

I don't know how far Sorachi can take his story, but I hope for more laughs with Gintama.

nice, i'm glad that the manga just moved platforms because a rushed ending for a series like this wouldn't do it any justice.
i'd be happy if this just kept going.

More Gintama is always a blessing. I salute Sorachi for not ending the manga and didn't succumb to tight schedule . This series deserves proper ending.

I don't see how just because anime exists because of the source make the source automatically become better.

Hey guys. According to news sources from Jump. Gintama is going to end in 2103. But even in 2103 a sequel will still be made.
