'Gintama' Franchise Gets New Anime

The Gintama Shirogane Matsuri 2019 (Kari) event announced production for a new anime for the Gintama franchise on Sunday. The format of the new anime was not revealed.
Gintama is based on Hideaki Sorachi's manga of the same name. It has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine since December 2003. Shueisha published the 76th volume on January 4.
The manga has received multiple anime adaptations since 2006, with Sunrise helming the first three anime seasons and Bandai Namco Pictures producing the rest. A live-action movie premiered last July. A second movie is planned for an August screening.

I don't know how far Sorachi can take his story, but I hope for more laughs with Gintama.

If they are no longer in the dark of how much there is to adapt then they will hopefully have more focus at the very least.
Its a damn shame production had to harm the show's final outings when up till now the anime was so much better than the source
The anime is way weaker than the manga, which of course is writen by Sorachi and the anime only exists because of it.

I don't think Gintama can ever look nearly as good as the 2015 season anymore since many of Gintama's animators moved on to other stuff, or aren't animating in general. Almost all of the good animation cuts from the last two seasons were done by one person (Sasaki Youhei).
The fourth-wall breaking segment at the end of the last episode did mention that the studio had a tiny budget and a tight schedule for the final arc. I doubt the budget issue will get fixed up, but maybe they might have a more fortunate schedule.
