Third 'Golden Kamuy' OVA Announces New Cast Members
The official website for the previously announced third Golden Kamuy OVA has revealed two cast members.
The third OVA will adapt the "Monster" arc which spans from chapter 63 - 70 in Satoru Noda's original manga. The episode, with a duration of 23 minutes, will be bundled with the 19th compiled manga volume that will ship on September 19. Hitoshi Nanba will reprise his role as director at Geno Studio.

More Golden Kamuy is always appreciated. I would love to see a third season instead of going for the manga.

They are canon. They just skipped them in the anime and are now adapting them as OVA.

Well some are originals and some are adapted from manga, in Golden Kamuy case a lot of manga materials are skipped so it's not surprising to see the skipped part are adapted separately into OVA.
