TV Anime 'SK∞' Gets New Anime Project

Aniplex revealed during the Sk8 Masquerade of Love event on Sunday that a new anime project for the original television anime SK∞ (Sk8 the Infinity) is in the works.

Synopsis
High school student Reki Kyan is passionate about one thing: skateboarding. When night falls, he heads to "S," an illegal underground race inside a mine where skaters compete in highly dangerous situations. After a loss that results in his skateboard being destroyed and his arm being broken, Reki is now incapable of practicing at all.

While working, Reki runs into his new classmate, Langa Hasegawa, a half-Canadian and half-Japanese boy with no skateboarding experience whatsoever. Langa is in desperate need of money. After they both visit "S" when tasked by Reki's boss, they get into trouble and are forced into a bet that requires Langa to skate in a race. However, the mysterious transfer student holds a trump card that Reki is unaware of, one which might help him win the race in the most unexpected way. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Hiroko Utsumi (Free!, Banana Fish) directed the 12-episode anime series at animation studio Bones during Winter 2021. Ichirou Ookouchi (Lupin III: Part 5, Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch) handled the series composition, and Michinori Chiba (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Tsukiuta. The Animation 2) designed the characters.

Yes. In Japan. But most of it's fanbase is female.

Well I'm happy about this news for sure this was definitely unexpected. I like how the show wrapped up so I'm interested to see what they do with the series.

I'm very surprised. The ending was very conclusive, not sure where they're going to take it from there. It'll be interesting to watch I guess.
