'Mato Seihei no Slave 2' Announces New Staff, 2026 Airing

The Mato Seihei no Slave (Chained Soldier) stage at the Pony Canyon booth at AnimeJapan 2025 revealed new staff and the first key visual (pictured) for Mato Seihei no Slave 2 (Chained Soldier Season 2) on Sunday. The second season adapting Takahiro and Youhei Takemura's action fantasy manga will air in 2026.

Masafumi Tamura (Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru) is directing the second season, replacing Junji Nishimura. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is returning to handle the series composition. Keiya Nakano (Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku) is designing the characters, replacing Hiroyuki Yoshii.

The first season, produced by Seven Arcs, aired in 12 episodes in Winter 2024. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime in North America and simulcast it on HIDIVE.

Takahiro and Takemura began serializing the manga on the Shounen Jump+ web magazine in January 2019. Shueisha published the 17th volume on December 4 last year.

Yen Press licensed the manga in English in December 2021. The tenth volume went on sale on January 21, with the 11th volume planned for an April 22 release.

Everyone is saying studio this, studio that.... The animation studio has Z E R O choice over this kind of thing. Whoever makes this does not matter, they are responsible for animation and that's the end of it, they still follow the committee's requests and their choice when it comes to broadcast and censorship that matters.

People thinking that because Passione does it, it will be very ecchi or would be well done in that section when the staff that the anime has, especially the director (The Misfit of Demon King), is going to be the problem lol

when it comes to ecchi being nerfed its mostly "battle ecchi".. while i hear they added some lewd stuff to Beheneko, that shit was SUPER tame compared to older battle ecchi

@EcchiGodMamster Gutted(they had an uncensored version) ? I think you are exaggerating( and I buy and read the manga volume so I can compare). Yes they altered some scenes but I 100% wouldn't say gutted but yeah I get what you mean.

So that leads me to believe that the recent censored examples was more because some retards were involved during the productions rather than the Japanese animation industry has started to become westernized and puritans. I am a very pessimistic person but somehow I have the feeling Passione won't disappoint us with this. After all Chained Soldier has become an important ecchi series and I believe Passione know that ecchi in this series is vital. We'll see

i mean shit, even Seven Arcs likely wouldn't have gutted Slave if it had come out 10+ years ago, especially since they made Sekirei lol

@EcchiGodMamster This may be me coping but are we sure this was the studio choice to censor it and not the possibility that the publisher of the source material didn't want the adaptation uncensored for distribution reason for the blu ray later etc? As far as I know this may be the only anime that was censored by them so I personally I can't believe Passione suddenly became beta idiots that censor stuff.

This studio made Ishuzoku Reviewers even more lewd compared to the manga. The is zero chance that they are gonna censor this . Absolute zero.

pretty much the only anime I'm SUPER EXCITED for other than Akogarete

glad its coming out in 2026 since that SHOULD mean the visuals look FAR BETTER, now lets just hope Passione isn't dumb enough to censor like they did with Excaliber
