I liked the first Gate anime and was hoping this was a sequel. Might still be worth it.

@StewedBeefHaunch The main thing is that it’s not EA Game Launcher, remembering how they literally took away 5-6 games I bought.

@RobertBobert

No, I mean like their reputation is so well known you can use them as a comparison for things outside hentai that are of poor quality.

Like Epic Games Launcher is the Queen Bee of game launchers.

@StewedBeefHaunch So many people watch generic hentai?

This is a direct sequel right? It feels more like spin-off since this is look like having a whole brand new characters and plot based on the synopsis.

@JacobSwaggedUp I feel the exact same way. This isn't exactly bad news but it also isn't the news that fans of Itami's Gate story wanted lol.

Let's go it's been almost a decade I'm so excited

Ha I streamed this back then, it seems like ages ago. I doubt the current crop of MAL users has ever watched it, probably never heard of it since it's from before 2020.
It's about the Japanese army using overwhelming force against a fantasy world, so if you are one of those people who has buzzed hair and wears camouflage and goes to target practice 3-4 times per week this is right up your alley.
I liked it for being unique but found myself empathizing with the fantasy Empire.

The JSDF's maritime division is really desparate for recruits, it seems. I read an article in Chinese last year about the Maritime JSDF is suffering from extremely low recruits and the still existing inter-branch rivarly is not helping the Maritime JSDF. You know, being stuck in a ship for 2-3 weeks is not great for a 32 year old Japanese man who wants to be a petty sailor.

If they had made it like five years ago I would've jump in joy but now I welcome it but not that excited

@justnermal10000
imagine making alt accounts and following someone to hate him for years

you are the most subhuman psychopath i have ever seen in my life ... your life must be empty as hell i feel bad for you

Jul 4, 11:45 AM by tragedydesu

@justnermal10000 i just prefer one to one romcoms over seeing a bunch of girls getting rejected
its not about execution i hate the harem genre itself

anway ,i gave up on that genre years ago i bash it from time to time because its fun :>
enjoy

@Mattinator95 Yes, this isn't a follow up to season 1, it has a whole new cast

Jul 4, 10:07 AM by RippleLover

I’m conflicted because I wanna see what happens to Itami and his group. This appears to be a new group!

Jul 4, 9:57 AM by JacobSwaggedUp

damn ... always those garbage harems are the ones getting sequels

Jul 4, 9:37 AM by tragedydesu

Took so long I'm old enough now to relate to the mthetrucker lol

@RobertBobert

Queen Bee's notoriety has risen to the point where it has transcended the hentai-verse and now become a universal constant

Jul 4, 8:20 AM by StewedBeefHaunch

@StewedBeefHaunch I wouldn't even call what they are doing an animation.

Jul 4, 4:49 AM by Piromysl

@Suprr

My exact thoughts as well whenever I see a random sequel after like a decade or so lol

But I guess this is different since it's basically like a different story

Jul 4, 4:40 AM by FMmatron

Aren’t they basically skipping the rest of S1 and straight to the sequel?
