'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' Sequel in Production

The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners panel at Anime Expo 2025 announced on Friday that a sequel is currently in production. The panel also revealed the main staff and teaser visual (pictured). The sequel, titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II, is scheduled to run for a total of 10 episodes.

Note: The staff denoted with the legend NEW are new in their respective roles.

Produced by Trigger, the 10-episode first season aired in September 2022. Netflix streamed the anime exclusively worldwide, with an English dub and subtitles in multiple languages.

The anime series is based on CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 video game which adapts the 1988 tabletop role-playing game Cyberpunk 2020). The game was released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in November 2020 and on Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 in February 2022.

Also, I didn't say this sequel is trash, but it's a Crashgrab build on the success of the first which most knew already,
but my gut feeling saying this will be downgrade and it was unnecessary, so I stated my Opinion on an announcement thread. I didn't turn of your game to argue with you, it was You. Go check your own replies.
I'll watch it eventually, even if it's bad, so they'll gain profit from me as well. I don't see why you're arguing here in the first place.

@Lonerxx you're being a child here picking up a fight. I stated my disappointment regarding what I experienced throughout various shows.

Tons of game adaptations are shitty asf. Cyberpunk turned out pretty well, but I don't think this one will be as good as the first. And I've seen many such crashgrabs fail to follow the footsteps of the first.
It's just you're being delusional thinking the game is good so this one will be as well.
You even don't know what happened to Code Geass, and that's funny enough you don't understand what I'm trying to say. You'll simply being an annoying fanboy.
You should watch the persona and Danganronpa adaptations, also the new DMC, not every good game gets it right.

And I'd prefer if you keep your optimism to yourself, instead of spamming my mailbox.
The show is not even out, and these fanboys are optimistic enough to pick a fight......smh.

@Anayan_Kashyap i agree with you its unnecessary if they forced to revived david or rebecca or using the same mc. but this new sequel have different mc, different story/perspective. idk if u play the game or not but cyberpunk/night city lore is very deep and still worth to explore, this is just not about david and the crew, legacy? legacy what lmao. i bet the storyline won't be forced like other anime. people who play the game really wait for it, because you will get the free content, update like before. CDPR never charges for the anime update. u can say cash grab or milking if CDPR always gives a charges for the update. it's not cashgrab like ur opinion say.

Unnecessary sequel crashgrabs ruin the legacy of beloved characters and storyline and make a joke of it.

Well I liked Edgerunners but not as much as some others did. I'd watch it but I don't feel excited either especially not knowing what it will be like plot wise and characters.

Cyberpunk franchise is a money printing machine atm, rightfully so. Not a single thing from this has been a miss so far. Be it the main game, phantom liberty expansion or Edgerunners.
