New 'Ansatsu Kyoushitsu' Movie Announced for March 2026

The official website of the Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom) anime series announced a new movie on Monday, revealing the main staff, cast, a teaser promo and teaser visual (pictured). The movie adapting Yuusei Matsui's comedy action manga will premiere in theaters in Japan on March 20, 2026.

The new movie, subtitled Minna no Jikan, will include episodes that were previously not shown in the anime series. The cast members are returning from the television anime. This marks the third and final installment of the anime's tenth anniversary project.

The first anime season aired in 22 episodes in Winter 2015, followed by the 25-episode second season in Winter 2016. A special episode screened at the Jump Super Anime Tour in November 2014, serving as a prequel to the television anime.

The Ansatsu Kyoushitsu: 365-nichi no Jikan (Assassination Classroom The Movie: 365 Days' Time) compiling the two anime season opened in Japan in November 2016. The Koro-sensei Quest! (Koro Sensei Quest!) net anime adapting Kizuku Watanabe and Jou Aoto's spin-off manga streamed from December 2016 to March 2017.

Matsui serialized the original manga in Weekly Shounen Jump from July 2012 to April 2016. Shueisha published the 21st and final volume in July 2016. The manga has a cumulative 27 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in March 2014 and released all 21 volumes between December 2014 and April 2018.

A live-action movie opened in Japan in March 2015, with a sequel movie following in March 2016.

As a normal story, frankly, they have been very late in producing works like this anime, but well, it is better than nothing.

In other words , they want to milk fan's nostalgia because as far as I know, only some extra chapters left and a light novel that nobody cares about. Japanese industry slowly becomes Western animation industry like Disney. Niiice

Is there enough material for it? I don't think it was as egregious as in the Horimiya and Yakusoku no Neverland cases.
