'Ikoku Nikki' Reveals Additional Cast, Theme Songs
The official website of the Ikoku Nikki (Journal with Witch) television anime revealed additional cast and theme songs on Wednesday. The anime adapting Tomoko Yamashita's josei drama manga is scheduled to premiere on ABC TV, Tokyo MX, and BS Asahi in January 2026.Cast
Shingo Kasamachi: Junichi Suwabe (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Nana Daigo: Eriko Matsui (Gintama°)
Kazunari Touno: Takashi Kondo (Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou)
Emiri Nara: Sumire Morohoshi (Violet Evergarden)
Singer-songwriter TOMOO (City The Animation) is performing the opening theme "Sonare," and J-Pop band Bialystocks is performing the ending theme "Kotozute."
Miyuki Ooshiro (Sakamichi no Apollon animation director) is helming the anime at Shuka. Kouhei Kiyasu (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru) is handling the series composition and penning the script. Kenji Hayama (Kuragehime) is designing the characters and Kensuke Ushio (Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite) is composing the music.
Yamashita serialized the manga in Feel Young from June 2017 to June 2023. Shodensha published the 11th and final volume in August 2023. Ikoku Nikki has a cumulative 1.7 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
