'Yami Shibai' 16th Season Announced for Winter 2026

Television station TV Tokyo announced a 16th season for the Yami Shibai (Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories) horror short anime series on Friday. The official website also revealed staff, cast, ending theme, and the main visual (pictured). This season will feature urban legend stories related to the theme of "Yui" (Ties) and premiere on January 11, 2026.

Musical group yosugala is performing the ending theme "Masquerade Night."

The first Yami Shibai season aired in 13 episodes in Summer 2013. The 15th and latest season aired in Summer 2025. Crunchyroll streamed the short anime with subtitles in multiple languages.

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Peak never dies lol. In all seriousness I'm excited, and I love to see this continuing. I still need to watch the lastest season, but it's a quick watch. More Yami Shibai is always nice!
