The 24th and final episode of Gachiakuta ended with an announcement on Monday that a second season is in production. Original creator Kei Urana drew an illustration commemorating the announcement (pictured above).

Produced by Bones Film, the first season adapting Urana's action fantasy manga debuted on July 6. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with multiple subtitles and dubs.

Weekly Shounen Magazine began serializing the manga in February 2022, featuring graffiti designs by Hideyoshi Andou. Kodansha published the 17th volume on November 17, with the 18th volume scheduled to be released on February 17, 2026.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in March 2023. The eighth volume went on sale on October 21, with the ninth volume set to be released on January 20, 2026..

Synopsis
The inhabitants of a certain wealthy town think nothing of throwing objects away. However, their waste is priceless to Rudo, a resident of the town's slums. Despite the constant warnings from his adoptive father Regto, Rudo spends his days searching for reusable materials that would otherwise be sent to the giant disposal area known as the Pit. Due to its vastness, the Pit doubles as a means of criminal punishment; those dropped in are never to return again.

When Regto is murdered by a mysterious assailant, Rudo is falsely accused of the crime and thrown into the Pit. To his surprise, he awakens in a trash-filled area inhabited by enormous monsters formed from the junk. As the toxic air and Trash Beasts push Rudo to the brink of death, he is saved by Enjin, one of the Cleaners who wield weapons known as Vital Instruments to fight the monstrosities. Having gained his own Vital Instrument, Rudo soon joins the Cleaners in the hopes of finding a way to escape the Pit and avenge his father. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Pretty radical art style, seems like this is the appropriate threat to say the word radical. ๐Ÿ˜

@wildhood Eh. The anime did pretty well in the West and Bones needs another action shounen with MHA finishing. If they give season 2 a great adaptation I'd expect a retroactive manga boost.

@3inPunisher Low manga sales every month since the anime started airing, with the manga only ranking in the Top 20 for the month of September 2025.

Expected, but a confirmation is always welcomed.

@wildhood By which metric do you reason why this was a flop?

@EcchiGodMamster Yes there is.

I think they did a good job with this adaptation so I'm glad we didn't have to wait long for this news.

Surprised this is getting another season, since it's kind of a flop in Japan. If anything, I think we're extremely lucky that this is getting a second season.
