The 12th and final episode of One Punch Man 3 (One-Punch Man Season 3) ended with an announcement on Monday that its second cours will air in 2027.

Produced by J.C.Staff, the third season adapting ONE and Yusuke Murata's comedy action manga began airing on October 12. Hulu and Disney+ streamed the anime with subtitles in the U.S. and Canada, respectively, with Crunchyroll streaming it in Europe and Southeast Asia.

Madhouse produced the 12-episode first season in Fall 2015. Daisuki, Hulu, and VIZ Media's Neon Alley platform streamed the anime with subtitles as it aired in Japan. Adult Swim's Toonami programming block debuted the show with an English dub in July 2016. VIZ Media released the anime series on home video in North America in April 2017.

The second season produced by J.C.Staff aired in 12 episodes in Spring 2019. Crunchyroll and Hulu simulcast the anime in Europe and North America, respectively. Toonami aired the second season with an English dub in October 2019.

ONE originally launched One Punch-Man as a webcomic in July 2009. Murata (Eyeshield 21) began redrawing the action superhero manga on the Tonari no Young Jump website in June 2012. Shueisha published the 35th volume on October 3. One Punch-Man has a cumulative 35 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation.

VIZ Media originally serialized One Punch-Man in English in its Shounen Jump Alpha digital anthology in January 2013 and currently simulpublishes the manga on its new Shounen Jump platform with the Japanese release. The 32nd volume went on sale on December 16. The manga has also been published in multiple foreign languages.

Ok, im at episode 7 and honestly dont understand what everyone is flaming about. Sure quality deteriorated but its not THAT bad. Everyone complained so much that I was under impression that its going to be like Hetalia or smt along the lines but its not that horrible or power point presentation like some ppl called it.... Im waiting for second part

Ngl, i really enjoyed season 3 and i think JC STAFF did an amazing job, it might not be for everyone but for me it was really nice and i am looking forward for part 2!

Season 3 part 1 is so bad and while I will be watching part 2 when it comes out, my expectations will so low that they can only be surpassed. No way part 2 is as bad visually, right?

OPM has become the biggest meme in all of anime. I honestly doubt another year will change the animation quality that much...

@H_Erifu regarding the rushed pre production and them having a year now i hope they get the time to do pre production properly this time and not 2 months before the first air date... toriyamam had like 3 animes within two seasons before opm..

The discourse will be juicy.

No!! No more please!!!

@FanofAction Such a severe dip in quality is indeed strange but you must admit this studio hasn't animated something recently where you can call the animation quality praiseworthy. So I personally I am hesitant to believe that this studio hide some amazing animators in their manpower.

Oh my, I hope the studio will make better animation with such long gap between part 1 and part 2.

Dec 30, 2025 3:52 AM by Rinrinka

That's a long gap for Season 3 Part 2. And I thought it would make more sense to call it Season 4 if it'll air that far away, in 2027.

I didn't watch OPM Season 3. I just checked out some YouTube videos where people were making fun of OPM S3, lol.

Aw, I was hoping it was just gonna get cancelled lol, not for the sake of a good adaptation; as a matter of fact, I don't care about that, but rather, I don't want that cause the series and upcoming arc is so garbage, it doesn't deserve an adaptation. If it had to get a continued adaptation, I'm glad they're not doin it till 2027 lol.

It just pisses me off how much clout this show and specifically this next arc gets when it's so bad. If the characters went to a fake planet instead of Jupiter, literally NOBODY would be talking about this shit because it would be like who cares cause the planet destroying concept ain't nothing special Dragon Ball been doing that. OPM only gets clout cause the creator decided to snipe the real world planet idea for his trash series. Doesn't deserve the idea or the clout in any way, shape or form. So yeah, f**k opm s3p2.

@deg yeah, so they didn't had 6 years...only a few months... Still, one year isn't going to be enough for s3, p2. Specially with the studio they choose. I loved s1, and s2. I decided to skip s3 because I felt it was just going to be a waste of time. Better to read the manga at this point lol.

Dec 29, 2025 4:59 PM by westernphantom

@westernphantom no idea but leaks says jc staff started actual production few months before airing and it shows

Dec 29, 2025 4:56 PM by deg

@deg Didn't they only choose the studio one year ago and had less than a year of production? The anime on those 6 years was not entirely being produced. Not sure, but I am sure they had a year or less to anime it. I believe some quality will increase with the next part... but not as par with s2, and even less s1.

@Yubisoft I know I'm not that far into the Fairy Tail sequel, but from what I've seen, Fairy Tail is nowhere near as ruined as OPM. They've had OPM for two seasons, and not only did it not get better between those two seasons, but it actually got worse. Nothing else I've seen from J.C.Staff has gotten that bad. Not even the noticeable dip in quality with the Accelerator spinoff was that bad. This tells me there's a big funding issue as well as some other higher up bs with this series specifically. So no, I don't fully blame the studio, at least not on the animator's end.

and I don't believe they were entirely to blame for how these past seasons have turned out.

So how do you explain that they also ruined the sequel of Fairy Tail. It takes skill to ruin both of the franchises.

Dec 29, 2025 3:16 PM by Yubisoft

Why? The series has already been fatally injured. Why are they trying to prolong it's death by splitting the season up and taking a full year break? I will forever hold a grudge against Madhouse. Literally any other studio could have jumped on this and it would have turned out better. Ok, maybe not any studio, but still. I don't even really hate J.C.Staff, and I don't believe they were entirely to blame for how these past seasons have turned out. Clearly some budget issues there. But I've thought from the start they were a bad fit.

Dec 29, 2025 3:04 PM by FanofAction

I bet the quality will still be the same, or they want to employ some AI stuff, its free anyway you freaking j.c staff
