Sequel Manga to Genshiken Announced

According to Afternoon magazine, a sequel manga to Genshiken was announced to start in December issue to be released on October 25th. The title is "Genshiken Nidaime" and the fifth president Ogiue Chika struggles to keep the new freshman members of Genshiken.

love genshiken... but i'm cautiously optimistic about a sequel. the sucess rate of any sequels aren't great. i think the manga had a nice ending itself. though i understand the genre itself is broad enough for more stories, and i'll definately will give them a read... lets hope it doesn't ruin the vibe the first series left in our hearts.

I liked the Genshiken manga, I think it ended well and that all the loose ends tied up well, so I'm not going to read this. As far as I'm concerned, this is the manga equivalent of when Hollywood goes and makes an unneeded sequel because a movie did well.
