It did take awhile admittedly, but was more of a downtime activity while listening to a podcast or something along those lines. I am only up to the end of the 1980s I believe. Still a few decades to sift through.
I agree that anime (and by extension manga) are really unique in the media landscape. The unrestrained creativity combined with the fascinating nature of Japanese culture and society produces an obsessive-compulsive degree of possibilities and experiences. Anime is very much a journey in my view.
I'll be on the lookout for any reviews of yours for series I have watched, it'll be interesting to cross-reference and share notes!
Hi 11equalsFish, appreciate you reading the review and reaching out. Honestly, the way I approach
plan to watch is more of going through a few decades of anime and tagging anything that stood out to either watch or take a closer look at later. Found a lot of what seem to be hidden gems that I probably would have never encountered otherwise.
Some anime that I have watched long ago I have not yet added or tracked as I feel a rewatch is necessary to fully frame a review and settle on a score. From that standpoint not all of my watched anime is tracked right now, only what I have watched or rewatched recently with that mindset and intention of rating and reviewing.
Yes, this season has some up and down but it was more interesting than the previous ones. I agree that CITY The Animation doesn't live up to the manga, although I understand why some changes had to be made it still doesn't help that the manga offers a better experience. I'm still enjoying the anime quite a lot.
I have found your profile through your See You Tomorrow at the Food Court review. Considering your interests, I think that you may like the manga Hirayasumi (I could obviously be wrong, though).
Also, I appreciated your review of The Boy and The Heron. It's a bit sad that many people don't value it as other Miyazaki's movies.
I'm loving it so far, despite a few chapters are getting skipped I can still enjoying it as its own thing. And yes it looks phenomenal, probably the most pleasant looking show of this year. I would like to be optimistic and say the studio can make one more season of CITY but only if it turns out to be a success and even with that it's not 100% guaranteed.
