I highly judge on the graphical side (even if it's intentional).
The genres I like are : rebirth, time travel, overpowered character, epicness, surgery, action, fantasy, adventure, martial art, tortured (twisted, between good and evil), strong love (will to give it's life for the loved one, kindness),
And those I don't like : yaoi, love centered story (almost nothing, but marshmallow romance), slice of life, school life
The type of character I like :
- the 'good' type : kind (but not dumb or too much forgiver), great sense of justice, help the weak, overwhelming will (succeed at all cost through blood and tears)
- the 'tortured/twisted' type : painful past or just insanity, great desire of revenge if painful past (desire that lead to insanity)
-> Ex : Guts
- the 'evil' type : the actions he does can seem evil, but he have faith into what he do (without being a mad psychopath or some sort of inhuman creature)
-> Ex : Tanya Degurechaff
And the type of character I hate : cocky bastard (consider other as trashes and weaks as fated to die), arrogant (show that he thinks himself superior just because he has more power/wealth).
Also, I don't like when the hero is passively watching the events or when (except for comedy) the story is already written and we watch it by flashback or dialogs. I like when the hero grows with the reader and we see a real progression.
