Hello everyone!
I'm a 21-year-old Venezuelan-American. Although my parents are American, I was born and raised in Venezuela. I'm a Christian, and I firmly believe that faith and reason can coexist, a principle I apply in all aspects of my life.
When it comes to anime, I don't stick to any specific genre or demographic. I've learned that the best works are often found in the most unexpected places, so I keep an open mind to avoid missing out on a great story.
My method for rating an anime is based on four fundamental pillars:
Script: Good dialogue is the backbone of any production. If the script doesn't make sense, it completely pulls me out of the story.
Story: I look for narratives that fully absorb me, that make me forget the outside world and live in the anime's universe.
Emotions: This is my most important metric. If a series makes me feel something deep—whether it's a surge of adrenaline or even tears—I know it's a masterpiece to me. I let myself be guided by what I felt while watching it, and if it made me pause to process what just happened, it's because it truly connected with me.
Character Development: I'm fascinated by watching a character evolve, going from a complete nobody to a significant figure.
Based on these criteria, I divide anime into three categories:
Masterpieces: Anime that meet all my criteria and profoundly impacted me. Examples include Code Geass, Shigatsu Wa Kimi no Uso and Kingdom.
Good Anime: These are entertaining productions I enjoy, but they don't reach the level of my masterpieces. They entertain me, but they don't make me jump out of my seat. Some examples are Danmachi, Date a Live and Fairy Tail.
Very Bad Anime: These are series that simply don't resonate with me. If the script or story is so absurd that I can't keep watching, I'll drop them. 11 Eyes, Ulysses, and Golden Time are a few examples.
