I used to be a 'mecha-fan' when I was a little kid.. but those nostalgic feelings pretty much died.
With the patlabor movies I had the feeling it was mostly focused on clever police work/investigations and subtle jokes.
But oh well.. I'm too lazy to verify your opinion of the Patlabor series .. so I guess ill just leave it for now :P.
Anyways .. you might not be a manga reader, but have u ever read NGE Re-take?
It's some kind of fan fiction of neon genesis blah.. with an interesting alternative ending.. Really something any NGE-fan should read.. :)
(beware though cuz it's like 1% hentai-ish)
