Making a character is actually pretty easy, the only hard thing about making a character is coming up with your biography. Everything else about making a character can just be some things from your life like what you like and don't like.

The best way to role play is to just pay attention to the situation and type the things that you feel at the moment.
So if person A says: "Just follow me and we'll reach our destination real soon. *Leaves the area as I walk through the woods, looking for the temple*"
Person B might say: "Are you sure that you know where you're going? *Follows her/him and looks around for the temple as well, not really certain if this is the right direction*"

Role play is all about following the situation and coming up with what you think is best for the situation.
