About me
The soul of an otaku resides in me… well, not really, since I’ve never attended a convention or worn a cosplay. But I’m definitely a nostalgist, opening enthusiast, and japanophile anime fan. I also consider myself a hajidere, a bakadere, an undere, a goudere, and a byoukidere (yeah that’s a lot, I know).
Watching/Reading Method
I’m especially into horror, thriller, and mystery, and I’m very fond of WMT shows, but I give every genre and format a fair chance (except hentai and ecchi). I pick my next anime or manga randomly so I don’t stick only to my favorites. I’m also a completionist: if I want to start an anime or manga franchise, I won’t begin unless I can find every part of it.
Rating system
I rate episodes and chapters on a 1–5 scale: 5 – Made me feel strong emotions (sadness, excitement, thrill) or deeply connected me with a situation or character. Also given to first episodes/chapters that introduce the anime or manga well, 4 – Gave me solid overall enjoyment, even if nothing truly special happened, 3 – Either I wanted it to be over quickly, or the story didn’t make sense. My lowest scores aren’t really about quality but about content I dislike (aka romance and fan service): 2 – There is mild romance in the air (hand-holding, confessions) but not the main focus, 1 – Episode/chapter is almost entirely mild romance, 0 – Contains extreme romance (kisses or more explicit acts) or fan service. If an episode or chapter contains mild romance but fits the criteria for a 5 at the same time, I give it a 4 instead. After finishing an anime or manga, I calculate the average episode/chapter score, then multiply it by 2 to get my final rating out of 10.
