Sebenernya semenjak kelar Aikatsu gw malah jadi gacor banget pengen nonton anime lagi, tapi pengen nyari action, jiwa normie gw malah muncul lagi. Sempet bingung nyari tontonan ampe akhirnya nonton To be Hero X, dan melimpir lagi ke SOL nonton Tamayura. Gw sempet liat favorite lu ada Macross F, baru dah sadar kenapa kagak Macross ae, udah bertahun-tahun gw kagak jadi-jadi nontonin itu franchise.
Setuju sih, Macross punya charm sendiri. Gimana ceritanya ada idol di Mecha yang juga punya cerita serius, tapi bisa manage idol element itu nggak cringe dan annoying, tetep asik ditonton. Awalnya emang rada ganggu dan butuh penyesuaian, tapi liat scene-scene perangnya itu terkesan majestic, diisuguhin scenes perang tapi soundtrack-nya idol pop song. Penyesuaian lagi buat gw itu romance-nya. Gw sebenernya rada sulit buat enjoy romance anime jadul. Contoh, sesuka gw sama Maison Ikkoku, butuh waktu lumayan lama buat gw bisa suka sama romance-nya. Romance di Macross menurut gw biasa banget, mungkin karena emang mood gw lagi pengen action aja.

Gundam sebenernya jelek-nya bukan literally jelek, tapi wasted potential. Sebenernya gw pernah naruh harapan tinggi sama Suisei no Majo, karena gw optimis S2-nya bakal nge-eksplor lebih karakter & tema perangnya. Side character-nya cukup menarik di S1, tinggal kasih story masing-masing ae di S2, ternyata malah membleh ampe tamat.
Hathaway boring parah, udah gitu film-nya gelap banget. Brightness-nya bikin ganggu karena jadi kagak jelas gw nontonin apaan. Mungkin baru film pertama, dan gw tetep excited liat Bapak Mafty anak Bapak Cahyo (beneran kejadian njir jokes-nya). Mending kelarin dulu ae ini project, udah dari 2018 di-announce. Kagak usah macem-macem ekperimen AU dulu.

Ayo, how is it going?

As for me, my year in Japan has begun! I got assigned to Saitama University and so far I'm really liking it here. It's close to tons of entertainment places but it's still a quiet area, so it's perfect for me.

So the other day I was in Akihabara and I just couldn't pass up on this.



It was about 6000 yen, a pretty acceptable price in my opinion. It's also pretty simbolic since WA2 is the very reason I picked up Japanese in the first place.
It's also about time I actually read Coda (and Koharu's route). Doing it in my room in Japan hits different, haha.

That's good to hear! Having a healthy diet and routine really takes you places - not like I have any of these two lol, but I plan on doing at least something about it sooner or later. So any money spent on such things is definitely well spent.

"Hirahira Hihiru" looks cool enough, I could give it a try at some point - even though there are many VNs I have to read first... one at a time...

What about visual novels, have you read anything interesting lately? As for me, I hadn't read anything ever since completing KnS 3 as uni took a lot of my time. Until a couple of days ago, after finally freeing myself from exams. I started reading Pianissimo, as I want to explore InnoGrey's lesser known works (also I own the disc since last year I bought the "paranoia" special edition from Mandarake which contains this, KnS 1, Cartagra and Nagomibako).

Yeah I completely understand your approach. I'd Say that for me it's a mix of both. The mysteries intrigue me a lot when they're well done, but in the end what stays in my heart Forever are the characters and their mutual interactions.

I'm currently a second-year (well, about to be a third-year one since this academic year is pretty much over) Japanese Studies student in university and if everything goes accordingly starting from September I'll be a ryuugakusei in Japan for a year. If you don't know what MEXT is, it's a one-year long scholarship opportunity to study in Japan offered by the national Japanese embassy. I managed to pass the exam required in order to get selected (which was insanely hard).
I still don't know where I'll go. I put some preferences but since it's up to the universities' capabilities I still don't know

what about you? how is life going?

Yeah, we did talk about Umineko before I left the site.
I still watch anime, but not as much as before.
My life is getting a little busier these days.

Gw nggak ada rencana buat binge watch Uma Musume sebenernya, awalnya mau binge anime-anime P.A. Works yang belom gw tonton soalnya itu masuk task gw yang belom kesampean. Kebetulan gw nonton Angel Beats dulu karena belasan tahun nge-wibu tapi gw belom nonton itu anime, baru Uma Musume karena sepupu gw nonton.

Gw seneng banget sama tema yang dibawa, healthy competition tapi nggak boring dan straightforward. I think the whole franchise is the closest thing to Aikatsu, walaupun gw belom nonton S3 Aikatsu karena emang sengaja di save kalo misal kagak ada anime bagus yang lagi ditonton. Relationship Spe sama Silence Suzuka ngingetin gw sama Ichigo & Mizuki, hard work & "natural talent". Gw lebih suka S3 cause it's more proper story of S2. S2 sebenernya potential karena storynya Teiou emang se-emotional itu (I'm now studying real history of the horses karena udah se-hook itu sama ini franchise) tapi angle injury-nya itu too much, seolah-olah forced down our throat, dan chemistry Teio sama McQueen jelek 😅. Gw nggak butuh emotional moment kayak gitu dari Uma Musume. journey Spe dan recovery story Suzuka itu udah sangat pas.

Road to the top walaupun singkat tapi padet, semuanya dapet highlight, plus I care about the OST dan emang paling bagus. Kalo cuma ngomongin anime-nya dari segi lomba lari ini paling bagus. Gw terlalu hooked dan shock pas Admire Vega menang Race, dan terharu pas Top Road menang race.

Cinderella Gray gw baca pas udah nonton S1-S3, awalnya heran sebenernya napa malah ada manga tentang Uma Musume tapi ratingnya tinggi di MAL, jadi agak kepengaruh sama rating juga sebenernya, sangat jarang gw kepengaruh rating website. Ini gila banget, gw sebenernya nggak terlalu suka sama modelan series kayak gini, yang "edgy and darker", apalagi ternyata Oguri itu modelan MC "stupid and only care about her passion" type of shounen character (I mean, lagu openingnya aja jelas-jelas lagu shounen bukan lagu idol) sebagian besar tipe MC kayak gini bikin gw nggak peduli.

Tapi ternyata gw salah besar & glad I was proven wrong with each chapters while reading the series. That "Darker tone" is actually fit with the series, gw nggak bisa ngebayangin kalo ini sama kayak anime-nya, cuma nyeritain MC lain tapi versi manga. Lomba larinya ini bener-bener di hightlight, they talk about how important the conpetitions, nggak cuma sekedar jadi pajangan & dialog numpang lewat doang. Karena animenya rata-rata kayak gitu, "we'll win this competition cause how important this is" then I was like "Is it?! then show more enthusiasm". Di prolog dari awal Tokai Derby udah langsung di describe sebegitu pentingnya untuk kompetisi regional, ya gw paham sih karena animenya tone-nya lebih hearthwarming & follow "idol" formula, apalagi Cinderella Gray juga lebih nge-hightlight strategic moment, ini baru keliatan di Road to the Top meskipun emang masih minim. Ibaratnya udah beda franchise aja sih ini, Cinderella Gray kayak cuma make nama "Uma Musume" & create a whole new series.

When I said it's one of the greatest fiction, I meant it. Gw baru baca sampe chapter 76, end of third arc, dan gw nggak tega mau lanjutin jadi bakal gw save kayak Aikatsu aja, bakal dilanjutin kalo gw udah kesel nggak ada yang menarik untuk di-ikutin. Chapter 76 itu juga sebenernya udah kayak end of the journey, kalo tamat di situ juga nggak masalah malah emang berasa kayak ending beneran. Makanya gw nggak tau ini next arc bakal kayak mana, karena gw baca 3 arc sebenernya udah sangat cukup.

Ya aku liatt echi anime prison school gilaaaa sihhh echinya hahahah. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
