I used to love anime. I searched and searched for something what is made for me, but I couldn't find anything apart from a few close enough shows.
One day, when I complained about the unimaginative writing someone replied the following:
"If you belive you can do it better, prove it."
You know, the usual offended fanboy jazz.
"Why not?" - I thought to myself.
As it turns out, I can. After a few finished novels I can safely say my imagination is pretty wild.
I managed to write the best dark fantasy series ever made.
Obviously, noone else in their right mind would consider my book the best or even good for that matter. I'm just a crappy amateur writer.
However, I'm writing it for myself, and for me it is the perfect world. No shit, right?
I know, but the thing is, this outstanding move ruined my joy of consuming art.
The moral of the story?
Nothing can compare to your own imaginary world.
Subarashiki Hibi
The wildest emotional rollercoster. From pain to pleasure, from fear to courage, from dispair to salvation, from disgust to beauty, from sorrow to happiness, from shame to pride, from hate to forgiveness, from anger to love, from jelousy to kindness, from gruesome to wholesome, from chaos to order. Twisted, deranged, harrowing, horrid, yet oddly uplifting and inspiring tale about what it means to be human. A truely unique, once in a lifetime experince.
Dispite there is an objective reality, we don't see, hear or experience the same world. Possibly, this is the only absolute truth in the life. Even the most simple words can have a completly different meaning, but on rare blissful occasions you may find someone with whom you share a similar world.
So let's continue to live our wonderful everydays while we are deliriously dancing towards our last sky.
Subarashiki Hibi - aka Wonderful Everyday - is the only work I consider "Pure Perfection" (10/10).
You can see the best of my 9/10s bellow. There is not many more.
Every other art I ever consumed is an 8 or lower. My 8 is your 10, except it wasn't made for me.
My review scores doesn't match the scores on my anime list. The reason being, when I write a review I compare them to other anime or manga. In the list however, I compare them with everything I enjoy to do. In other word, I ask the question:
"Was it worth spending time on, or would I have been better off doing something else?"
Seeing my scores you may ask:
"Why do you even watch anime?"
Well, yes, I do ask the same from myself...
Usually, I don't. I rather write my own novel, but occationally I feel like rotting my brain a bit.
Manga or Anime?
To that I say, Visual Novels. They have the guts to tell truely non-conventional stories.
