I'm some weird person who is super passionate about animation and story telling. My favorite genres are fantasy, adventure, supernatural, action, sci-fi drama and mystery. I give most of my anime a quick 1-2 sentence review things in the tags of my anime and manga list if you’re interested. So yeah.
The anime that I've rated as 10/10's are things that had a huge impact on me personally and they had little flaws that I could find/bothered me.

My anime journey: I grew up watching ghibli movies, Pokemon and dbz, when I was about 8 or 9 I started to use the internet, and I discovered Hosada, who had only done The girl who leapt through time at that point, and Shinkai. My first non mainstream anime series was squid girl, but fruits baskets and spice and wolf are the ones that got me really into anime, so I consider those to technically be my gateway anime.
Choosing my favorite characters is always very hard. I can only have 10 on my profile but there are so much more characters that I love, haha. My top 10 characters and anime aren't absolute, and I might change it up depending on how I feel.
Honestly so fair haha. I will say Look Back in movie form is at minimum 10x more devastating than the manga LOL, the music plus seeing the montages in motion feel like they're specifically curated to make you empty your tear ducts. I know what you mean with CaitVi! The whole copaganda thing, how quickly their conflict was resolved in act 2, plus the out of character sex scene while Jinx was literally suicidal just puts a sour taste in my mouth despite how much I adored them in s1.
ooo let me know if you do release it into a webcomic series, I would love to read it! I have zero drawing talent myself, so I think it's incredibly impressive that you are able to do so despite your disability. I hope you keep going!
I finally got around to watching some of Milgram! I've watched most of the mvs, but I need to go back and watch some of the voice dramas too. Really cool stuff! The community engagement aspect of it is super unique, and the mvs themselves are well produced. I think my favorites were the Haruka and Mu mvs. I like how their sins are kinda vague and as a viewer, it's up to your own personal interpretation as to whether they deserve forgiveness or not. I also like how the mvs depict the way that the prisoners feel about their own crimes, making them appear more guilty/less guilty depending on the way that they themselves perceive their own actions, which can often be misleading. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!
Oh no I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully things have been getting better. Let me know how the novels for eupho are! I'm curious as to how much the cut content affected everything. I think there was a movie announcement recently that'll include all the missing performances which will be nice to see.
Look back in theaters was such an amazing experience, but it'll be great even at home. I was sobbing like crazy LOL. I feel the same way about Arcane omg. I had such high expectations for s2, so it was such a shame to see it get rushed to death. All the main plot points were legitimately great ideas to explore, but the execution is where everything crumbled. I think Vi and Cait were especially neglected this season, plus the Piltover-Zaun conflict was just swept to the side despite all the setup previously. S1 was great at letting the story breathe between major plot developments and took the time to let characters introspect and talk to each other, while S2 was just plot after plot, not giving the characters the time to even process what's going on. ep 7 though was genuinely beautiful and my favorite arcane episode, and for that I'm glad that s2 exists.
Wow Love Bullet is that good? It seems really interesting, I'll try to take a look. I think it's rare for stories to have that great of an impression after just 10 chapters. Sure, I'm down to watch the mvs! I'm interested in seeing how the music is used in a meta way.
I really missed Naoko Yamada's stuff, I need to get around to watching it. Dandadan is great! I love how vivid and expressive the animation is, plus the main cast is really likable. I look forward to seeing how s2 goes. omg I need to watch revue starlight, I've heard so many good things about it. I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying it so much! I didn't know that you drew, how long have you been making art?
Aww, hopefully this year will be better for you. I've been pretty good! Work has been going well thankfully. I haven't been watching a lot of anime except for the occasional seasonal, but I've been playing a lot of games! In terms of anime, I think Look Back was the highlight of last year. It was the perfect adaptation and was overflowing with sm heart & soul, a true love letter to the medium. Eupho S3 was really good! It did feel a little too fast paced, but the character writing is as good as always. It's been a while so my memory of it is a bit fuzzy, but I think it had a very satisfying ending that ended on a high note. I think you'll enjoy it! Also not anime, but I have a lot of thoughts regarding Arcane s2 if you've watched it at all? A new favorite in terms of games tho was finally playing through FFXIV Shadowbringers! I took a break from the game a while back, but this expansion was genuinely one of the best JRPG stories I've ever experienced.
I haven't heard of Love Bullet, but what did you like about it? ooo what is at the top of your list rn? I've relapsed and developed Umineko brainrot once again LOL because one of my favorite streamers is playing through it. Let me know when you pick it up! I'd love to talk more about it haha. I also need to get around to reading Higurashi, but my backlog is just huge rn.
I have not tried Witch Hat Atelier yet unfortunately, but I've gonna hold out for the anime adaptation! I haven't read a lot of manga recently tbh.
Hey! Sorry, lmao. I rarely talk with people here anymore, lol. Though maybe I should change that as it was pretty fun when I did.
I've been good! Thanks. I have no idea which is your Twitter account though, sorry xD
Oh, man, heavenly Delusions was a wild ride. Yeah, sorryI took so long, it must be like a year since that aired, lol. Right now I'm watching Makeine and I'm enjoying the hell out of it :')
Sorry for such a late response! Been busy with a lot of irl stuff, but I hope you've been doing well!
You make witch hat sound so appealing omg. I def plan on picking it up at some point! I'm really itching for some good high fantasy series. I agree that live action stuff tends to be confined by the limits of reality, so fantasy concepts don't really work as well. I just love the potential for artistic expression and creativity in animanga. There are so many stories that would just be impossible or look ridiculous if adapted into live action. I think the main advantage of live action works are rather in their ability to capture subtle gestures/expressions.
What are you thoughts on Eupho now that the third season is coming out? It's been such a long time, but it's made me realize how much I miss Kitauji lol.
I'm really excited for Look Back! I've seen the trailers, and I love the art style. I'm not an artist, but I can def see how impactful a story like it can be! I'd love a potential Goodbye Eri adaptation, tho I have doubts about Fire Punch ever getting an adaptation unfortunately.
Honestly felt natural to me. The beauty in every Kyoto Animations show to me lies in their exploration of every character. It doesn't feel like anyone gets left out and they all actually matter. To this day I remember half of Violet's clients and I appreciate the entirety Kitauji ensemble as one rather than just the main characters. Ep 10 was so sad because of how natural the flow was. That one genuinely felt earned. The first 5 eps mightve slogged a bit but I'm ok with slow starts. I watched in 2020.
The movie was more forced tbh. Series was not too far from perfection though I do love shows diving into post-war consequences. FMAB and Avatar are my 2 favourite shows of all time!
Oh wow you didn't watch the Violet Evergarden movie? I'm surprised the base show only got a 7/10 for you tbh. Violet is my favourite female character of all time.
ooo I've heard a lot of good things about Witch Hat Atelier! What do you like about it? It's been on my to read list for forever lol. Fantasy is also my favorite genre, and a genre that I think really suits anime as a medium. It really sucks that isekai has been turned into a genre that's filled with self insert fantasies, harems, and just the bottom of the barrel anime tropes when it could be so much more.
let me know what you think about it! I'm still disappointed that Kumiko and Reina never became a thing. If only lol.
I agree! Honestly I would have preferred a more chaotic and vibrant adaptation that matched the vibe of the manga, but what we got was still really good. I liked how the director had his own unique take on it, with a lot more emphasis on the quieter moments. I do feel like the anime could have been received a lot better if it was 2 cour instead since CSM takes a bit to get going.
