I was expecting it to be good because it was directed by the same guy from The Tatami Galaxy and Ping Pong The Animation, but I never expected to have so much fun watching it. The plot is super dumb and over-the-top but that's what was so good about it!
I'm sure you'll love it since you're a Tatami Galaxy fan and if you haven't checked Ping Pong The Animation, you should definitely do it as well.
But he watch it by reading the subs, then skipping 2 seconds forward, and reading more subs.. which I think kinda ruins the experience. But he said it was an 8/10 anyway, and that it improved past episode 9..
Haven't had much time for anime lately.. it's not even that I've had too much homework.. just have trouble motivating myself to start it. I end up wasting time doing nothing and procrastinating. Any tips? You must have some that works, having studied as far as you have :)
Yup, if Kimi no Na wa comes back to cinemas here, there's no way I'll miss it a second time. I think seeing it on the big screen would be an amazing experience. At any rate, it's certainly worth a rewatch.
I'll figure something out for uni eventually. I'm sure the me of next year has all this planned out already :D
I agree with you about the editing. It's nice to hear that you like having extensive edits made to your work. But sometimes, I'm hesitant to make huge edits to something, simply because it might be seen as too destructive of the writer's original work. Rewriting is a nice thing to do in your spare time :)
I did the test, and ended up as ISTJ-T, a Logistician! Even though it's the most common (makes me feel a bit ordinary, haha), it describes me so well, it's uncanny. I do often take on responsibility in a group, just to make sure it gets done to my standards, and so I only have myself to blame. It's mostly accurate, except I'm actually horribly organised and frequently procrastinate until the last minute.. still end up doing well though..
I'd agree, and say that in general, I just want an anime to be memorable and enjoyable. So, I feel like the time spent watching it has been worthwhile, and had a positive influence on me. Of course, I sometimes still watch a simple moe or action show, when I want a break from the thinking. :D
Looking at our shared anime, the few shows we have in common are rated very similarly. I have to ask you about Kimi no Na wa. It is probably the second best movie I have ever seen (first being Interstellar :D), and it set the bar for animation, scenery and music. But I decided to give it 9 instead of 10, mainly because I don't think I"ve watched enough anime to judge something a 10. I was wondering if you managed to watch it in cinema, or the DVD rip that's been circulating. I watched the DVD rip, because even though I live in Australia, where it screened, I didn't know of it until after it closed -_- Even in 480p, the quality and detail was brilliant. I can only imagine what it would be like in full HD. But very recently (in the past day or so), there's a 720p release leaked, which I might have to grab and rewatch :D
Yeah, that's mostly what I thought. I know some maths does have real world applications, but the majority seems far too abstract. I think I'd prefer industry work, but I'm still very unsure and don't know what exactly I'd like to do. Which might be a problem, considering I've started my last year of high school.. Something along the lines of maths, comp sci or maybe even economics.
20 synopses is nothing to sneeze at. It takes a lot more time to generate a completely original synopsis than to edit it. I've not been editing much lately, since school started this week, just whenever I can spare an hour or so. Speaking of edits though, the people in rewrite are really quite amazing. They really know how to exploit the language and make everything flow, in ways that you don't even think of. English is actually my weakest subject (but I still do alright), and it's obvious I have a lot to learn, haha.
I somehow ended up on your profile and was intrigued. Hope you don't mind this even though we've never talked, haha.
Just wanted to ask what you used for your Myers-Briggs test? I'd quite like to try it on myself.
Also, I completely agree with wanting meaning and intelligence in anime. Often, I watch a show with the intention of having my views challenged, and I also want to be made to think. It makes me feel like I'm not completely wasting my time watching anime. Lol
And your educational credentials scare me.. so many of them. I'm in my final year of year of high school, and am considering further study in similar areas (I really enjoy maths and programming). The only thing is, there doesn't seem to be many career choices in these fields, apart from further study and maybe becoming a lecturer yourself (or is this wrong?).
Finally, you're also on MAL Rewrite! :D
I joined a little over a week ago as an editor, it's nice to stumble upon another member.
Sorry for the long winded first comment.. I just had a lot to say about pretty much everything in your profile :P
Regards.
