I'm an older and fairly new manga fan despite a long passion for comics and graphic novels: I was raised on Peanuts, and then moved on mostly to Franco-Belgian BD! I'm also an amateur artist (pencil and marker drawing) which I began in my teens, set aside for a while and recently got back to in my spare time in my mid-forties. I draw mainly characters of my own creation but also doing some occasional fan art of my favorite manga characters. My biggest project: I've written a script of my own for a graphic novel and am also in the course of doing its art work. I hope I may find a publisher for it.

Professionally, I trained and worked as a college history teacher, which is one reason I love History-themed manga and anime as well as all sorts of historical fiction and non-fiction writing (it shows a lot in my manga and anime lists!). I've been lucky to live in several countries, the US where I was born, France where my family is originally from, Britain for part of my studies and Germany during military service. I have been living in Switzerland almost eight years now. Besides writing and drawing, I love mountain hiking, travel, historical sites, museums and photography.

I have never been to Japan yet but hope to some day, my travels have mostly been around Europe and North America.

My favorite characters as you'll see from the list are female, and I do also like Yuri which has really contributed to make my views evolve in recent years. As you can see, I've chosen a fan art drawing I did of Yuu Koito, the lead heroine of "Bloom Into You", on an illustrate-yourself calendar. I'd say she's my number one favorite!
