Late reply since I dont use this site at all but yeah it makes complete sense because the satoko in Sotsugou is less Satoko and more a character from Umineko so it's completely in line. I spent like 16 eps of the anime thinking it was a super shitty reboot until the looper reveal and then I realized it was an umineko prequel which sucks because it would make literally 0 sense if you haven't read the vns but there's no disclaimer for that lmao. VNs are super good but if you find em boring it can't really be helped, just know that sotsugou was pretty necessary for the When They Cry series as a bridge between entries.

Hey just letting you know Higu SotsuGou isn't really a like anime continuation thing and ONLY makes sense if you've read the higurashi VN and the Umineko VN I see a lot of the reviews calling it a reboot or something like that when it's not at all. It's an Umineko prequel to fill in the gap in time between Higurashi and Umineko. (For your review specifically i'm adding this just cause you said not to mention Umineko in the reviews or whatever. Higurashi is a part of a trilogy, naturally it ties into the other parts so it doesn't really make sense not to mention the other parts. I know it wasn't marketed as such and that's it's main problem but SotsuGou is for people who have read the Higurashi visual novels and some additional content from it and also preferably Umineko. Going from the DEEN Higu adaptation to this is going to feel like garbage because that's not how it's supposed to be)
