I think you are giving equal importance to music and other factors.
Lets stop this discussion for now. Every person has his/her own point of views.
By the way, English Dubbed of Death Note version in far more better Subbed one.

No problem. It was an otherwise good and helpful review of Death Note.

Seeing as this is your first review, continue to build off of it. Stay well thought and concise. Best of luck.

Sound ≠ Music

I hope you realize that that "Music" is only a small part of "Sound". Your Death Note review completely ignored this aspect and focused on the opening and ending solely.

For that reason your review is heavily flawed as you managed to ignore one of the most well coordinated aspects of the series.

Aside from containing one of the most masterful and well praised OSTs in Anime (composed by Yoshihisa Hirano and Hideki Taniuchi), Death Note's sound producer, Tomoaki Yamada was stellar. The mood was built perfectly and fittingly filled the atmosphere for each scene. His choices were fresh with heavy emphasis on the guitar of which he recognized and utilized its lengthy range spectacularly.

Rie Komiya who looked after sound effects did a fantastic job as well. Everything sounded so real and accurate that you were never once taken out of the experience by something that sounded off.

Do I need to talk about the voice actors? Whether you watched dub or sub, the emotions conveyed by just about everyone in the cast was spot on. Both L and Kira were voiced in a way that truly drew you into their eloquent lines. I could go on but regardless whoever looked after casting understood each character as perfectly as the cast themselves.

Sound was one of the best aspects of Death Note. Simply put, it was a masterpiece. I hope you recognize the sound staff and cast's efforts because they are who truly defined Death Note's "Sound" and not just the opening and ending songs.

Cheers,
What are your thoughts on second arc? Do you find it as good as the first one?
