I did watch em too, as for the Picnic Girls it surely was disappointing, both yuri and sci-fi wise. Both narrative genres were interrupting each others development. Such a shame that the animation cast was really competent and yet the result wasn't the best. You were mentioning the manga, is it any better? I was reading it the other day and was better told than the series. Toriko is an unpleaseant person imo.
Adashima was a good surprise, before the realease it seemed like a dull series. With interruption do you mean moments like Adachi trying to kiss Shimamura and then get interrupted by the little sister? The infamous yuri-bait :O . Yeah the astronaut wasn't smart, they could literally just make it human and made no change at all
