glad i could get you into rewatching the most intense sports anime of all time. on the surface, it may look like silly jokes of slapping cards around. but when you get really into the series, knowing all the furious elements and training that goes into a simple game on the outside, you can't help but be immersed into the match. as if you were playing it yourself. the characters spill out their emotions, training, and thoughts for this final moment and you could feel it for them. and unlike most sports anime, chihayafuru is not at all predictable at who's gonna win with how it sets everything up giving both sides an equal chance due to the dedication both have given, making you root for both since you don't want either of their efforts to be for nothing. for a moment, you feel like you're playing the game itself. especially love taichi matches where he spills out all his feelings in a relaxed way using his freaky memorization skills. and that voice that goes along it is literal asmr.
