I would highly recommend revisiting Honey & Clover now that you're older. Even within a two year span, I feel like some of the emotions created by the story changed for me. Its such a well-crafted story and Morito is great.

I loved Frieren! I can't believe I put off watching it this long, especially with so much praise from practically everyone. In a way though, I am glad I did put it off just so I don't have to wait too long for the second season. :-) I am often picky about fantasy stories, because I sometimes find the magic systems overly complicated, or there feels like too much of a need to have a large, earth-shattering conflict completely reliant on the heroes. Great fantasies, like Frieren, have clear but interesting magic systems, and an actual build up to catastrophe over the course of the narrative that makes you care about the characters and their world. Like most have praised the show for, I got really invested in the titular character and her internal conflict. Each episode goes by so quickly and is just so damn pleasant to watch. I also love tournament/test arcs and this show's blew me away! Super hype for s2, we can chat about it if you are also planning to keep up with it.

Never apologize for delayed responses btw. I don't take it personally and I have been trying to have a greater drive to respond back to all my messages more quickly going into the new year. I hope you have a great holiday.

Revisiting Honey and Clover finally made me bump the manga up into my top 10 ^u^ The show is great (especially the soundtrack, which is fantastic) but like you told me, doesn't quite sell the full package of the manga. There are a lot of funny and sweet details I remembered from the manga that the anime cuts, so I ended up rereading a lot of sections throughout my viewing.

I thought I would be more off-put by the Shuu confession revisiting this story. While there definitely are moments throughout the show that weirded me out now with the context of his romantic love, I found myself more accepting of the outcome on my second interaction with this story. I can not fathom them being lovers, even if I know Shuu feels that way. They are familial, and since they feel like the only two characters at the end that are still unsure, remain together to support each other. until Hagu fully finds her strength. At least thats how I read it. Im glad the anime ended with a scene of them helping Hagu strengthen her muscles and not something weird.
I love the scene of Hagu telling Morita that she will always be watching and rooting for him, even if she wants him to leave her behind to pursue his dreams. Maybe that can be interpreted that they will find their way back to each other and fall in love all over again once they both are settled?

Of course, the train scene really tugged at my heart strings all over again, maybe even more so now that I'm a college grad. The love the characters have for each other, yet mutual understanding that they all need to move on and separate is so powerful. It feels like Hagu's injury is finally the push the characters need to move on with their lives, after remaining reliant on each other and in limbo about their futures for so long. I forgot how devastating the scene of the characters talking about going to the beach together but never actually making it is. Only a few anime have made me cry, and I broke down at the portion of Hagu rushing to bring Takemoto the clovers even though I knew it was coming. Takemoto's acceptance of his heartbreak as a crucial chapter in his maturation is fantastic.

Also- The Zetsubou OVAS are soooo good! Def on par with the full length seasons. That show seriously has some of the best visuals of anything I have seen, and the ovas amp everything up to 100. I loved the four minute full theme song.

You remember when I read Honey and Clover two years ago I told you I loved Hagu and Takemoto's relationship? Now watching the show, I def ship Morita and Hagu more!! ^_^ still love the friendship between the former two though, I am prepared to bawl my eyes out to the final train scene once again.

Oh, sorry to hear that. Glad that you're managing somehow tho.

Yeah, it was really fun. Finally had a day for myself to take a break and do fun stuff, I really needed it.
