I am an Anime/Manga Fan. What more can I say?

I have been a long-time reader of Manga and watcher of Anime since 2020. I have garnered a lot of knowledge of understanding the formulas of each show and rating them to the best of my ability.

Do be aware that a lot of shows (although I have watched them) may not be given a 'true' score. Sometimes I rate shows purely of enjoyment, or what the story entails especially when reading it from the manga.

exactly. backstories shouldn't be the only reliable tool to enrich a character. everything has a time and place; dont hamfist a storyline during a hype fight and break its pacing just to make us feel sorry for the characters. if you want to tell a flashback alongside a fight, integrate it better. naruto did this rlly well with (spoiler)

if you want us to care about heroes/villains, dont characterize with exclamations, give us nuance. tell us about their past gradually, give us tidbits throughout the runtime, make us curious. that was not the only crucial step that demon slayers needed to take, but it definitely would improve my enjoyment a lot more.

sorry for ranting here, im sure you're aware of all of this, but i wanted to take the time to continue fleshing out my own thoughts.

agreed with the sentiment of your demon slayer movie. technically, each character arc has the parts needed for a good story, but i think the show and movies have made it abundantly clear that the author has zero finesse or intuition on how to piece it together. akaza had the best arc by far, but solely because his took up more of the movie's runtime. and even so, it fails miserably.

Good Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle review. Characters aren't that great and storytelling is indeed very mid. Still, I'm a sucker for the animation ;-;
