Hi there!
If you are reading that means that you are probably interested in my weeb life. If that is not the case then you should probably stop reading, because I have a lot of things to tell you.
Kodomo Arc:
When I was a kid I would watch a lot of anime from TV, back then most the animes that were being aired (at the very least in the countries I lived in) were animes that would teach a lot of lessons in life and boy did these animes contribute into what kind of person I am right now. Animes like Heidi, Tom Sawyer and Alice in Wonderland taught me how I should face my life, how I should treat people, how to be an optimistic person, how does the world work, how cruel and wonderful the world can be.
These animes would serve as the starting point of my long anime journey as they were the series that actually made me start to fall in love with the wonderful world of anime.
I usually get tears of joy from hearing the following opening (you might too):
Shounen and Super Robot/Mecha Arc:
After my sweet and innocent childhood, I met a lot of people who actually shares the same interest as me, one of them being my gundam-baka friend who will get me into the world of sci-fi and super robot animes, turning me into fellow gundam-baka. Animes like Gundam, Gundam Z, Gundam ZZ, LOGH and Neon Genesis Evangelion would turn out to be my favourite animes. These awesome animes made me think and dream about how the future is going to be, while at the same they made me realise and understand the different intricacies and problems that our society have.
Pew pew pew... just watch this awesome opening:
At around this point of my life, one genre of anime was taking taking the industry by a storm. And yes, this genre I'm reffering to is the well known shounen anime. Anime's like Dragon ball, Yu yu hakusho, Ranma 1/2 will leave a lot of good memories in my life. I will always remember all the hype fights that happened in Dragon Ball (and all the damned cliff hangers), all of Akane's cute tsundere moments and Yuuske's cool personality.
Anime elitist Arc:
During my super robot and shounen years, my weeb personality was in constant evolution to the point in which I would start to distinguish good animes from the bad and hardly criticise all anime's that I didn't like. So during this years, I only watched all the animes that I felt was really good like Cowboy bebop, Serial experiments Lain, Azumanga Daioh, Haibane Renmei and Gundam Seed (for some reason, I was also in my emo years during this period).
I felt really awful during these years. I think I was also a tsundere during those years as I would usually tell everyone the total opposite of what I was thinking.
F*ck Imma just watch everythin' Arc:
After a couple of years being an anime elitist, I realised that I was missing a lot of interesting series just because I would usually just judge a book by it's covers, so I started to become a more open minded person. And as this events were happening in my life, the anime industry was entering what I usually describe as the ultimate golden age of anime.
Animes that took the best from the previous anime series like Code Geass, Clannad, Gundam 00, Kanon, Death Note, Air, Gurren Laggan, Full Metal Alchemist (Brotherhood) were my favourite animes of these years. This was also the same years, in which I would start to marathon shit ton of animes and at point of this period I watched all the animes (including the new season animes) in an entire anime website (I was definitely a super hardcore during these years).
Here Imma just leave you with a couple of dangos:
I remember from these years, that I would usually get up at 6am in the morning just to watch 6 episode of animes, go to school then come home to watch more animes. I studied while watching anime,I eat while watching anime, I was doing excercise while watching anime ...
Echii, Harem and Moe Arc
Well this is just straight up embarassing years for me, but yeah there was a time in my life in which I would just non stop watch these kinds of anime as I usually associate them with comedy (for some dumb reason). And of course, I would also usually watch them for the "plot". I don't wanna say the animes that I watched during those years, you are just gonna have to find them ;)
Ojii-san arc:
I join MAL and I started to become a social weeb.
If you have something in common with me please don't hesitate to talk to me about it, so we can share our experiences and have fun together.
