I don't know if you are still alive, my man, but I just went here to wish you a Happy Birthday. I hope you have a wonderful and great day, receive lots of presents and be happy my bro. May you join us in Discord one day too!
Shafting and the sheer level of ridiculousness in the War arc was just sad, man. But hey, at least Kishi has Boruto to milk the cashcow, amirite? Can't wait to see your reactions to OP though, hope you have fun reading it~
Ayy, good to see you, mate! Was just thinking about leaving a profile comment for you the other day, lel.
Hmm, One Piece is definitely a series that I think you can appreciate more when you start young, since you have more time to get into it and it's just something that sticks w/you. The strongest elements of One Piece for me are world-building and characters. The length of the series is actually an advantage, as it allowed Oda to create an insane world which hardcore fans of the series are still theorizing about 900+ chapters in. As far as characters, the Straw Hat Pirates are damn entertaining, cause they all have compelling backstories and a great family dynamic, and unlike in Naruto for example, Oda has kept his characters relevant throughout the series. Hell, even early arc villains return and still play a role in the story, which I really respect. It did become a bit of a problem as Oda sometimes introduces way too many characters, but the past couple of arcs Oda has begun to recapture his magic. The other problem is that it does become a bit formulaic, but overall, the execution generally is still great.
Anyway, there is a lot more I can say, but I don't want to drop any potential spoilers, haha. xD If you decide to get into OP, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND sticking w/the manga, as it will save you on time and Toei really fucks up the pacing in the latter half of the series. For the hype moments, you can always watch it on YT or something. But if you really would prefer the anime, it's pretty solid (animation aside) up until the time-skip.
Overall, I'd put OP just a notch below HxH and FMA in terms of best Shounen series. So while it's a big investment, it's definitely worth it imo. :>
Lmao, yeah the far side routes work so well because they each build on each other. Arc's route surprised me as well, I think Shiki was the most badass in her route and the True End was a tearjerker for me tbh. The manga made it even better too, one of the best Type-Moon adaptations imo. I agree with the pacing, plus I liked how the story felt much more grounded and personal than F/SN. Where the whole world is at stake in Fate, Tsukihime focuses on a specific series of murders, which is what I loved about KnK too.
Hmm, hard to say, considering the first movie adapted up to Saber getting swallowed only. Still got plenty of shit to come, lul. But action scenes definitely went above and beyond the VN, esp for Lancer vs. True Assassin. It was paced really well, but unfortunately they skipped some Illya scenes :( Luckily, the post-credits trailer teases some moar Illya for movie 2, which I can't wait for. Another thing is that I went into KnK blind, but with this movie, I had loads of hype since I read the VN. Hard to compare for me still.
Also, hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year~! :D
I read both, then read KT. So good :D How would you rank the routes? Personally, I go with Kohaku > Arc > Akiha > Hisui > Ciel, but Arc's might have been my favorite stand-alone since Kohaku's route is so great because of the stuff you learned in Hisui's route. The maids twist was just so brilliant.
Damn, really sucks... Movie was pretty fucking awesome. And the best part is that the audience in the theater was based af, everyone laughing at all the VN references.
Yo Rogue! It has been a while. I been doing well. I was meaning to talk to you about my love of Tsukihime, but irl kept me too busy lmao. Also just saw HF the other day, and man, I was blown away.
I agree, I thought that the second half was more entertaining with stands like Mariah's and the brothers'
but towards the end it was more intense and felt more meaningful because characters actually died ;-;
The second half has had more interesting stand users so far imo
But I'm excited to finish it and start Part 4 because I've heard a lot of good things about it
